Tom Wagler
Hello, I'm a new user to Accordance and have been having trouble getting some of the scripture links in "My Notes" to "stick". I create, edit, make link, update, and the links will work until I close down and relaunch Accordance. Upon relaunch I find that some are broken. I don't have many notes yet, but it seems to break some links but not other. For instance, a note and link in Esther works fine, but a note and link on 2 Pet 1:3 along with three to four links in that note are broken upon restart of accordance. Is there something that I'm not doing correctly. See link for screen grab of my notes. My link OS 10.6.1 Accordance 8.4 Thanks, Tom Wagler PS- I should have mentioned that even the link to the note reference is broken. i.e.- 2 Pet 1:3 which is a self-generated accordance link becomes useless upon relaunch
Helen Brown
Tom, we are at a loss to know what is going on here. Can you email the User Notes file that you have to our support address, and I will take a look at it.
Tom Wagler
Something different and interesting happened today that I thought might shed light on the issue. I got a different message and here is a screen grab of the message. http://grab.by/FDj Am I perhaps breaking some rules while editing or accessing my notes?? I had multiple workspaces and panes open. After I closed all but one workspace it seems to be working again. Any ideas why the 2 Pet. ref wouldn't work but the others did? Thanks, Tom
Helen Brown
Tom, I got your files, just too busy at the meetings to look at the issues, sorry!
Tom
Interesting.... My links in "my notes" do not appear in the instant details window. Mouse pointer turns to magnifier icon, but no instant details. I can click on the link, and it does open a new tab with references. Tom
Helen Brown
I wonder if you are using an old Bible version to link to. Check the date of the file itself on the finder, needs to be 2000 or later.
Paul Daunno
I've just experienced this too. I created a link to Gal 5:22-23 last night and when I opened Accordance just now the link was broken. Like Tom I'm a fairly new user of Accordance. I've got 8.4 installed and the ESVS version I'm using is 2.1. Like Tom, the Accordance generated verse links are broken too. I just created one for Phil 2:1, saved my workspace, quit & restarted Accordance and the link is no longer working.
Tom
I wonder if you are using an old Bible version to link to. Check the date of the file itself on the finder, needs to be 2000 or later. I am linking to NASB, with a created date and modified date of: Friday, August 11, 2006. None of my links that I create in "my notes" work now, nor do the verse reference notes that Accordance creates for each verse that I am doing notations on. In other panes, such as Hebrew pane, instant details provides parsing information. Tom
ChGrunwald
Hello, Yesterday I updatet to Accordance 8.4 and now have problems with Scripture Links in the User Notes as well. When I want to add a new note to a specific Verse (via Command+U), until yesterday a blank Edit-Window appears with the referenced Verse (as Link) in the first line. Now, this Reference is not visible! It is there (the cursor in the Edit-Window is automatically in the second line and when I update the Note file an move the Mouse over the"univisable Link" the Verse is displayed in the instant Detail Window)
Helen Brown
I confirm that the user notes file that Tom sent me on Nov 14 does display a bug in the references of the last note. I think this will allow us to track down the issue after the holiday. If others of you would like to send me a copy of your files with a description of the problem, they may also help us. Sorry for the delay, we have just been maxxed out preparing for and attending SBL.
ChGrunwald
Hello, my problem is solved. I had another problem concerning files permissions after update. Every time after opening a message appears, that the files "Greek Words" and "Hebrew words" needs write permissions. After searching for the files, I found them twice. One set is in the accordance folder, and one pair in the "Gloss folder" in the accordance folder. The files permissions were correct, but the folder "Gloss folder" just had read permissions. I changed it and
Lorinda H. M. Hoover
I ran into this problem today, but I have discovered something interesting. This happened in a Notes pane in a text tab. The Text Order drop-down for the text tab was set to GNT-T. Any Old Testament Scripture links did not work. I got the hyperlink cannot be found/different corpus error listed above. When I hovered my mouse over A New Testament link, the verse would appear in Greek in the Instant details, even though I have specified NRSV in the User Tool Preferences. As soon as I set the Text Order back to NRSV, the links worked correctly. Another oddity: I have three active sets of User Notes. But when I went to open one from the icon in the text tab, only one of the User Notes files was listed. When I checked the list in the Resource palette, all three were shown. If I clicked on one of the User Notes files listed in the Resource palette that did not appear in the list on the text tab, a new tab with those notes would open (as one would expect) and that file would then appear in the list on the text tab in question. The User Notes I had problems with was one of those that originally did not appear in the list in the text tab. Lorinda
Tom
Sorry for the delay, we have just been maxxed out preparing for and attending SBL. Any update on this issue? I have updated to 8.4.1 and my links in my user notes still do not display in the instant details window. Nor do the Accordance verse references in my user notes. Everything else shows up in instant details window just fine. Tom

Helen Brown
Oh, sorry. I think this needs the personal touch: a screenshare so I can see exactly what is going on.
