mbcvida Posted March 1 Posted March 1 I would like to suggest that in order to filter items in the store that the categories (subcategories) be alphabetized. It would be so much easier to find things. Would this be a simple thing to do? 4
David Padfield Posted March 1 Posted March 1 (edited) I love this idea!!! I suggest they also allow you to filter by PUBLISHER as well. Edited March 1 by David Padfield
cweber Posted March 1 Posted March 1 (edited) It would greatly enhance the user experience if the Accordance online store incorporated a tagging system that aligns with the libraries we manage in our Accordance purchases. I have encountered mismatches such that the store's search function struggles to accurately identify an item I already own. It is not terrible, but it would be nice to ensure users have a clearer overview of their existing library versus new potential additions. I maintain a record of purchases in Excel with codes and names. Is there is a feature available to users once logged in, to review their purchases; it would be interesting to see if my list matches 100%? This stems back to my request for library management. Those of us with large collections need better tools for these issues. Edited March 1 by cweber 2

In the Accordance store under 'My Account' when I click on the 'orders' tab my orders from 2018 onward are listed, but not those I place before 2018? However, when click on the 'library' tab the listing seems complete.

Before I came to work here, I've spent enough personally out of pocket for Accordance where I own the equivalent of the "Accordance Car". It makes me work even harder though for our customers since it reminds me daily that I am also an Accordance user. 2
cweber Posted March 2 Posted March 2 For this topic my thoughts about the store was in relation to linking my libraries to the store search so I can click a tag from my library menu item and it opens that resource in the store; a "nice to have". Anyway, I'd be interested to see 'tips for users' (I couldn't create a post there) include library management. I classified mine like follows and have scripted to backup these from files in ...\AppData\Local\Accordance\Accordance Preferences\ so when I upgrade I don't lose it. This is why I would love to see the export and import options for my configuration, saves lots of behind the scenes file manipulation. I plan to migrate the flows to PowerShell so I have more flexibility and will migrate my Excel content into a database. A bit extreme to need this but is what I do with my large collection and I know people with far more than I have. My motivation is control over the resources at a very granular level. I have too much to read it all in full and working towards isolating and prioritising. By no means do I think I have my below classification ideal, I am still learning. Hopefully it is helpful to promote my desire for improved library management.
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted March 3 Posted March 3 I can post a thread on library management if you'd like, as well as do some QuickTip videos this year on it. Maybe even a webinar. What are some topics you'd like to see? This could be really fun to work on!
cweber Posted March 3 Posted March 3 I coded to extract from "C:\ProgramData\Accordance\Modules\" how Accordance classifies material. I have preferences for some that don't align in the same way and I created my own arrangement for those. My Groups is disparate from the Menu so not ideal, although has it's place. The functionality I'd like to see is not there. 1) Add a menu export and menu import option of the user's saved layout (arrangement) of the menu (not to be confused with the ambiguous named export choice there now that relates to bibliography) 2) The info icon on each resource could have more options within. It would be nice for user definable custom properties: a) A custom property could be hide/show rather than deleting the resource. Obviously one then needs a way to turn it back on since you won't see it if hidden. b) A custom property for a web link. There might be another resource we want to refer to. c) A custom property to tag a resource d) A custom property for Priority e) A custom property for Category f) A custom property for Purchase These are just a few ideas. All these need to be exportable with the menu. 3) You might want to open a library management dialog rather than embed features in the existing menu, perhaps as an "advanced" mode. 4) I suggest running a survey to see what else the customer base would like. I think of these in terms of library management. Customers with many resources need improved methods of managing their libraries and purchases.
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted March 3 Posted March 3 This feedback would be great under "Feature Requests" as well, although I can also start a Library Management survey under "Tips for Users" as well.

Currently when I log into the online store under 'My Account' when I click on the 'orders' tab my orders from 2018 onward are listed, but not those I place before 2018.
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted March 3 Posted March 3 I'm not sure of the answer to pre-2018 purchases. Also, I moved this to Website feedback so we can better track it.
