Brian K. Mitchell
New, Mac user here again. A little disclaimer: I have been using MacOS for almost 3 full months at the moment (November 19th, 2023) so I probably have a lot of question that may seem fairly obvious to more experience users of MacOS. So, please bear with me as ask some question about MacOS that might seem a bit elementary or silly. So, this time around my question is: What are your favorite or most used MacOS keyboard command Short Cuts? OR What the most essential Short Cuts one should know in your opinion? On the other hand if you believe that key board Short Cuts are redundant or are somehow irrelevant please do not hesitate to say so. thanks in advance, Brian
JonathanHuber
Shift+Cmd+ 3/4/5 for different kinds of screen capture. 3 does image capture for entire screen. 4 lets you select a portion of the screen. 5 does video capture, which is what I use instead of OBS for recordings.
c. stirling bartholomew
For original language texts: Select a string of text Command Option F Gets the job done. In Hebrew it is a painless process to search for idioms. This isn't an answer to your question. I thought you were talking about Accordance shortcuts. MacOS escape key, command w, command tab, command ~ Caution: Have on several occasions made an error on the screen capture sequence and had my desktop "cleaned up" which is certainly an ironic expression. I always check the key board shortcut before using it. Edited November 18 by c. stirling bartholomew

Dr. Nathan Parker
If you want some fun, try Option+Shift+K in a word processor.
Donald Cobb
I have a few personalized shortcuts that I use constantly: control+shift+v => displays each verse individually control+shift+p => displays paragraphs with a space in between control+p => displays paragraphs with no space in between command+option+indent => switches back and forth between tabs opened in parallel I don't remember if this one is mine or if it's stock, but it's probably the one I use the most: control+shift+n => opens a new work space
A. Smith
Keyboard shortcuts are great. But Siri Shortcuts and automations are a game changer.
A. Smith
My most used keyboard shortcuts (aside from basic word processing stuff) is cmd-tab to switch apps, cmd-option-space to for OmniFocus quick entry, and ctrl-option-space for Alfred (now that I’ve reawoken to its awesomeness).
Dr. Nathan Parker
I need to do more with Siri Shortcuts (I used Automator quite a bit). How are you using it? If you want to start a new thread for us to discuss it, that would be fun.
