Accordance Enthusiast Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 This is sure a mistake as there are sigla markings in these verses but no information in the Apparatus. The Apparatus picks up again in verse 14.
mgvh Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 I can confirm missing apparatus. Here's what it should be: 1
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 Send this to Report Corrections, but I'm also going going to grab it and log it. 1
Accordance Enthusiast Posted October 9, 2023 Author Posted October 9, 2023 OK, done! Hopefully this will be corrected withing a year?
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 I don't have ETAs on particular corrections at the moment, but this is one I'll bring up with our teams along with the other one's you've mentioned. 3

It's been more than a year. There has been no update for the NA28 apparatus. I paid for this thinking it would at least be complete. Here is another example of a missing section in the Apparatus. The whole module will have to be checked for this type of issue: There should be two sections of information with textual variants for verse 23 based on the sigla in the text module, but there is no information in the Apparatus. Edited January 6 by Accordance Enthusiast 2
Accordance Enthusiast Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 So now I have to constantly check back to the print version to ensure that a whole section of information is not lost in the Accordance module. Not good. 2
Brian Leathers Posted January 6 Posted January 6 And yet again, as far as electronic versions go, I will have to use the NA28 in Logos because at least theirs is an accurate version of the printed text of the NA28 apparatus. Unbelievable… 1 1
A. Smith Posted January 6 Posted January 6 This is really bad. I mean, we should always confirm such essential primary texts with the printed version for research. But to have such a critical tool missing this sort of info is not at all good and needs to be fixed asap. Move it to the top of the pile. 4

The strength of Accordance for OL research was its strongest leg to stand on, and with this post, and others, it now appears that leg is a bit wobbly... 2 2
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I'm adding this to our list to check for a new source file, but we might need to first check to see when we merged the two files if something happened we could fix without needing a new file.

Because all their qualified people who knew how to do this no longer work at the company. Tbh, I think the reason why Nathan keeps announcing on the forum how he is learning to do this or that is because he is the one who will be doing it. If Accordance had qualified people they would be using them. 1 4

If Accordance had qualified people they would be using them. This is incorrect. We have a team of qualified module developers. Our module developers have been busy with other projects, but we are taking time out in between projects to work on corrections and stuff like this. In fact, we're working on one round in January.

One thing I’ve always loved about the Accordance in the past is that we got to know the people in the company. 3

Hello @KevinPurcell here are a some of the Accordance Staff other that I am aware of that sometime visit the forums other than @Dr. Nathan Parker : @Iconoclaste @Sean Nelson @Billy32792 @Mike Garrity @Silas Marrs @Ken Simpson @David Lang Grace and Peace
KevinPurcell Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) From my limited knowledge I think many of the people in this list are not at Accordance any longer. Which ones are actively working as programmers today? Edited January 8 by KevinPurcell 4
Michel Gilbert Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Silas left. Ken is a physician, not a programmer. Mike is a programmer. I'm not sure if iconoclaste or David would consider themselves to be. They posted that they are looking for more programmers (two if I recall). 2 1
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted January 8 Posted January 8 You'll occasionally hear about module updates from two of our module developers, either "iconoclaste" or David Lang (mostly from "iconoclaste", David has been super-busy lately and hasn't had much time to check the forums). We have other module developers, but they don't frequent the forums (one of them also assists with Tech Support, so you've probably interacted with him). I'm also being trained to do some module development work myself. I don't expect to produce "intense" new modules (since I'm not a professional developer), but with the training I'm going through, I can likely produce new Bibles, plus I'd like to learn enough to work on corrections (I've already been learning some of this as we speak). Now that I've remembered to save my files before running my scripts, I am getting the process down.
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted January 8 Posted January 8 We are hiring two programmers, but we're still looking for them. We're especially looking for programmers skilled in JavaScript/TypeScript. If you know of anyone, please send them our way! 1

I would think that learning to develope modules would be a piece of cake after learning how to handle disgruntled customers on this forum. LOL! You do good work, Nathan. If your modules turn out as well as your customer relations, they will be good, even if not totally fault-free. My hat's off to you. You should be able to develop a module while standing on your head and eating a Chick-fil-a. 😁
darrylmy Posted January 9 Posted January 9 7 hours ago, Michel Gilbert said: Silas left. I missed this because it was during finals and the end of semester term papers. Silas was not only the lead programmer, but the one who was actively working on the promised-but-not-yet-delievered features. Module development aside, what about program development? At this point, stability, longevity, fidelity (i.e. what was one referred to as "research-grade texts"), are more important than a slight loss in efficiency and a new learning curve with a tool that now provides what Accordance is lacking. Tools are tools, and in the end, we each have to choose the right tool for the job. But it's sad...
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted January 9 Posted January 9 @Mike Atnip At first I was struggling. Turns out I was forgetting to save my files before running them, which is why nothing was happening. I guess I needed another Chick-Fil-A sandwich to clear my brain. :-) "Iconoclaste" is going to review my first module I'm working on. Good news is I managed to fix a couple of typos that were in the e-text before it's released to customers, so I guess I'm not doing too bad. @KevinPurcell One other thing my former manager at my weather company is doing this at his new company is a "Staff Spotlight" in their newsletters. I like it and would personally like to see it in our newsletters. We could feature an Accordance Staff member with their name and picture and a one paragraph bio about them, what they do for Accordance, their favorite Accordance feature, and their favorite Accordance module. It'd be a way for users to help connect with the people behind the product. @darrylmy We still have programming working on syncing, as well as they've been doubling-down on stability and bug fixes recently. We've had a couple of updates (we're up to 14.0.11). We've recently addressed User Note corruption and some other highly-requested bug fixes on here.
