A. Smith
Sonoma wrecked my accordance install. I've got a constant error that texts are not available for accordance. I've written about it here I need accordance. I can't do my job right now with accordance down. I thought I could manage with logos and accordance iOS. I can't. So, I've got the idea to completely uninstall and reinstall accordance. My thought is that, if accordance can't access the modules, and I can't even get accordance to stay open long enough to reinstall modules, maybe I can just start from scratch. It's worth a shot since I haven't heard anything from tech support or anyone else at accordance (I've emailed also). I see three locations with accordance files: application support, where the modules, etc are. Documents, where my files are. workspaces, phrasing, etc. And dropbox, which is a duplication of some of these files and folders from the documents folder. If I copy these files to another drive, completely uninstall accordance, then reinstall accordance and replace the files in documents and application support (preferences), my personalized stuff from accordance should be the same, right? Yes make sure you have them backed up. Sorry to hear the mac update lead to issues in the accordance app. You have the right idea - Back up your files and the reinstall the app. Maybe go back to the previous operating system then reinstall Accordance Bible Software. After you reinstall drop the files in the correct folders.
Michel Gilbert
Hi, @A. Smith Forgive me if you already know this. I had to learn how to completely uninstall programs on a Mac, and I will paste my notes to self on how to do this, which I hope you will be able to make sense of. I would also like to mention another possibility to get you up and running, especially if a reinstall doesn’t work —download the trial version of Parallels Desktop and download Ventura and install Accordance on it to see if it works. I know Parallels costs, but if it works as a last resort for however long you will need it, it will be worth it. To completely uninstall a program on a Mac: - unhide files, Cmd-Shift . (period) - Applications > move app to trash - Users/yourname/Library/ Application Support Caches Logs Preferences and move to trash (files with app and/or developer name) - and do the same thing in /Macintosh SSD/Library/ StartupItems/ /Library/LaunchAgents/ /Library/LaunchDaemons/ and /Library/Receipts/ folder, find any files that have .pkg extension - use Finder and delete any files with app and/or developer name - also check System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items Empty trash
A. Smith
And that's a great big NOPE. Reinstalling doesn't work. The problem seems to be related to easy install and authorization. I think that's what the not currently available part of the error message means (which is something I've never seen before that I can remember). For clarity, this is a fresh install of v 14 with every trace of accordance wiped clean. Then the modules reinstalled directly to the application support folder because they're unavailable in easy install.

Yes. I've got parallels and use it for Paratext almost daily, so installing accordance on windows isn't impossible. I just hate it. And it's not like the windows version is bug-free by any stretch. It's kinda absurd.

I don’t know why Parallels on an Intel Mac wouldn’t allow the same thing “for software development, testing, using macOS Server, or personal, non-commercial use.” Edit: It’s just three clicks in the Installation Assistant: Download MacOS > Continue > Download. All you need is enough RAM. Edited September 27, 2023 by Michel Gilbert
