Repeatable Live Click Crash (14.0.5)

Recommended Posts

I recently found a repeatable crash after upgrading to 14.0.5.  Whenever I use Live click while in the OT, Accordance crashes.  It doesn't seem to happen while in the NT, which is kind of strange.  The other thing about this is it only happens when I use any english translation other than the ESV.  Not sure what's happening here.

I am currently using the following:

Windows 11 Pro; version 10.0.22624 Build 22624

Accordance 14.0.5

Here's my most recent crash report

I even uninstalled Accordance and removed all associated files and folders thinking something might have been corrupted during the upgrade.

Try going to Preferences>Reading/Research, Rebuild Research Cache. If that doesn’t work, run this one by Tech Support. I can’t duplicate it.

@Nathan Parker, unfortunately that didn't work.  Can you try something for me before I call Tech Support?  Can you try opening lets say the LSB> turn on Live click> Go to Genesis 1> Click on the word "God" (specifically after "In the beginning,").  Then change the LSB to the KJV with Strong's and click on the same word "God".

Let me know if this produced Accordance to crash.

Thanks for confirming this @ReformedDoc.  I think I'm going to wait on calling tech support and see if others chime in confirming they have the same issue.  If this is the case, I think @Nathan Parker should consider this a bug and therefore should file this as such.

Since @ReformedDoc confirmed it, I went ahead and filed the bug report. Thanks for helping us confirm that! It’s still not crashing for me yet.

Ok, I just found this out...It only crashes when I try change the text when I have it colored with live click on, with live click on & not colored it changes with no crash. With live click off & colored in there is no crash.

@ReformedDoc, If i'm understanding you correctly, which I believe I am, the issue seems to be with Live click itself.  Do you agree?

If I have a similar problem, what do I do from here? For me, the live-click's specific feature that  seems to crash the app is the "word usage" feature from the hebrew MT-ETCBC text.

the Word Usage feature stays in loading phase without loading anything and eventually crashes

Unfortunately, my app just crashed simply using the compare text feature

Let me know if this produced Accordance to crash.

I was able to easily reproduce this crash.  I didn't even have to switch to the KJVS from the LSB.

I am posting this on the programming team's board.

I wasn't able to reproduce all of these reported crashes. Periodically you will need to clear your caches in the Accordance Safe Mode window.

If you are on a Mac, press your ‘option’ key as you open Accordance in order to open Accordance Safe Mode.

If you are on a Windows PC, press and hold your ‘alt’ key ‘immediately after’ you click on the Accordance icon in order to open Accordance Safe Mode.

Please select ‘Remove startup session’, ‘Clear Library Cache’, ‘Clear Research Cache’ and then ‘Launch Accordance’.

Thanks.
