Virus in Accordance Sale email

cim

Recommended Posts

In this weeks sale email, when I clicked BUY and went to the site, my antivirus terminated JS/Spy.Banker.KN trojan twice when processing a transaction. I have since deleted primary debit card from the site.

that sounds very worrying indeed!

Can I get some follow up information?

Which product did you click on?

Did the antivirus warning happen during checkout, or when visiting our site?

I'll let our support team know so that we can check it out.

This particular virus might remain latent on your computer for an indeterminate amount of time, then trigger when it detects that you are interacting with certain online purchasing systems.  Read more here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/threats/malware-encyclopedia-description?Name=TrojanProxy:JS/Banker.M

The fact that it triggered when buying from us just means that Accordance was the first company you purchased from after it infected your system.  As far as I can tell, it does not mean that the infection originated here.

It was from the Spring Sale email. I clicked BUY NOW button for 40 Questions Series. Then as I proceeded through the Accordance site ESET stopped and removed it twice.

What happens when you perform a full system scan with ESET? Does the virus still appear?

I also wonder if it could potentially be a false positive (I had that happen with Intego and CrossOver).

I’m looking at giving these guys a try for a month for antivirus and “battle testing” Accordance and the Accordance website with it:

https://www.cyberteamus.com/amac/

I like that they’re based in the US and veteran owned, plus the whitelisting system will be some tough protection I can “battle test” with Accordance.

I scanned the buy now link with VirusTotal and it came up clean by every anti-malware vendor out there. ESET did not find it again with full system scan. I don't know where it came from, and don't visit any shady sites.

Virus Total https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload offers a browser extension and is no charge. It's a anti-virus clearing house.

Thanks! I mainly use Safari (I don’t think the extension works with it), but I have Edge on my machines as well. I might throw it on there.
