Rich Shields Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Has there been a problem with the upgrade? I downloaded it through the program itself and installed; but it shows up still as 8.3.1. Then I downloaded the upgrade installer separately and it still shows as 8.3.1. Am I missing something?
Helen Brown Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 It should be 8.3.2. Are you sure you don't have two copies of the program on your hard drive?
Rich Shields Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 No, just the one. And I have upgraded every time there is an upgrade, and never had a problem.
Ron Webber Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Did you try repairing permissions before attempting the install? -Ron
Rich Shields Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 Did you try repairing permissions before attempting the install? -Ron Yes, I do that before any major change, and then after software changes.
Rich Shields Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 Success!!!! Helen, after you asked about the start up items, I began exploring. There was a startup item from FontExplorer, which I deleted last week, but the startup item remained (even using AppDelete). Once I removed that startup item, then the installer worked properly. I restarted, and all is well. Thank you for your assistance!
Rich Shields Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 I just downloaded the installer for 8.3.3 and still ran into the same installer problem. It appears to be a conflict with MagiCal . When I removed it from the applications folder and took out the startup icon, then the installer worked fine.
