pbp
Maybe this feature already exists, but I was unable to find it. I would like to be able to find specific results within a search. For istance: I want to find all the verbs of God/Lord in Old Testament. I build my construct and get the results (many). Wonderful. I see, that the verb love (ahav) is used 9 times. Well I would like to see these 9 results of the search, to understand better. And then would like to go back to the full previous search and see the other verbs (create, speak, etc). And continue so, back and forward. is that possible? I I click on the verb of the results in analysis, accordance gives me a new search of all the bible, while I want only the result of my search. Lawrence
That sounds like something you should be able to do right off the bat. Would you mind listing the steps you took?
pbp
I made a simple search: all the verbs with God/Lord as subject in OT. 2552 results. I go to analysis and find the list, which is obviously a long list. The first verb (alphabetically) is 'avad (perjsh, destroy). 2 times only. I would like to find these 2 times in the search, and then going back to analysis and find bara' (create), 9 times, and see these 9 cases. Now I have to go through all the search to find them. I do not know if it is clear. I am not able to explain better, I am afraid.
Accordance Enthusiast
One thing you could do is to duplicate your construct tab, and then add the applicable verb to your construct search - add the lexical form of the verb you're looking for in the subject column. These results are not all applicable, but this way you can sort the results: Then simply change the lexical form for every new search you want to study. pbp
Thank you. I know that this way is possible, but it is very bothering. And in any case disconnect me from the general search. I thought that there was a simple way by clicking or right-clicking on the verb to see it in the search. Maybe one day it will be possible. Accordance Enthusiast
Generally if you triple click a word in the analysis window it will search that word, but not in your specialised construct search. Maybe they could improve this feature in the future.
pbp
Yes, it would be very helpful. When you want to study the result of a search with many results, I find it very useful to be able to go back and forward to the different result of the same search. Thank you. pbp

I tried to create a similar search, but the 'Simple Construct Search' tutorial crashed both Accordance 14.0.3 and 14.0.4. I then created a Greek Construct Search that produced a list in the original tab. Right-clicking a word in the original tab brings up a menu that allows search-in, which puts the result of the search into another tab. You can go back to the original tab to check out another word.
pbp
Thank you! But this would be a totally new search in all the bible, while I was looking only for the exact results of the verb in the search I've done. It seems it is not possible. Lawrence
@pbp Apologies, I see that you already mentioned that in your initial post. Something that gets you part way there is to duplicate the tab and restrict the search: 1. Do the search, see something interesting in the search results tab. 2. Click the down-arrow in the tab and select "Duplicate Tab" (or ctrl-D on Windows). 3. When the new tab appears, press enter to check that the search results are still there. 4. In the search bar, add <and> word to the end of the search (keep the angled brackets), where word is the verb you are interested in. You can go back to the original tab to see the full results, and you can go through the process again to put search refinements in further tabs. You can also make <and> word more complex if you want to control the search refinements more carefully. It's not as simple as a right-click, but it looks like a good way to combine construct searches with the more traditional search style.
