Running Accordance (Windows 11) under Virtualisation

Over these holidays I was considering spinning up an instance of Accordance under virtulisation, primarily to convince myself I have a disaster recovery plan.

The latest somewhat "stable" version of Accordance seems to be v13.3.4

According to Microsoft "Application Virtualization will be end of life in April 2026" and then they want you to pay for Azure cloud.

Oracle VirtualBox is freely available as Open Source Software and might be a better alternative.

Has anyone here successfully run this Accordance version virtualised and can share their experience please?

You may be conflating Application Virtualization (App-V), where just a single app is virtualized and sent to a machine, and Hyper-V which is an entire OS is running as a virtual machine. Hyper-V is not going away and is the Microsoft equivalent of Oracle's VirtualBox.

Thanks @ScottDF for the clarification. I have never had a need to pursue this at home before, I previously only used the capability on servers. When I saw App-V it seemed a good fit for a single application (Accordance).
