cweber
Over these holidays I was considering spinning up an instance of Accordance under virtulisation, primarily to convince myself I have a disaster recovery plan. The latest somewhat "stable" version of Accordance seems to be v13.3.4 https://accordancefiles1.com/products/Accordance13.3.4.exe According to Microsoft "Application Virtualization will be end of life in April 2026" and then they want you to pay for Azure cloud. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/application-management/app-v/appv-getting-started Oracle VirtualBox is freely available as Open Source Software and might be a better alternative. Has anyone here successfully run this Accordance version virtualised and can share their experience please?
ScottDF
You may be conflating Application Virtualization (App-V), where just a single app is virtualized and sent to a machine, and Hyper-V which is an entire OS is running as a virtual machine. Hyper-V is not going away and is the Microsoft equivalent of Oracle's VirtualBox.
cweber
Thanks @ScottDF for the clarification. I have never had a need to pursue this at home before, I previously only used the capability on servers. When I saw App-V it seemed a good fit for a single application (Accordance).
