John,

When you double-click an item name on the Timeline or Map, or triple-click a word in a text pane, the default tool for that type of information is automatically searched. But you can amplify to any other resource in your Accordance library by selecting an item (single-click in Timeline or Map, double-click in a text pane) and then choosing any resource you want from the Resource palette.

When you amplify to a tool, Accordance searches the fields in a specified order of priority. Thus, if the item you selected is found within the Entry or Titles field, Accordance will show that result. If not, it will move on to subsequent fields, including the English Content, until it finds the word you selected. Thus, it is not limited in the fields which can be searched, it is designed to give you the most pertinent results first--to move from narrow to broad.

If you want to search multiple resources at the same time, this is easily done with a Search All. Select the item you wish to search, then click and hold on the Search button at the bottom left of the Resource palette. A pop-up menu will appear listing all your Search All groups (groups of text, tool, and user tool modules which you can define). The default groups are [All], [All Bibles], and [All Tools], but you can add your own custom groupings.

Select one of these groups a new Search All window will open listing every occurrence of the word in question in every field of every text or tool in the group you selected. To examine the specific results, click on each item in the Search All window.

You see, the information is there, and it's not hard to get to at all. :)
