V 14.0.1 still a problem

1. Library is still messed up completely with books all over the place in the wrong spots.

2. Spinning color wheel of death appears just opening the program!

Can we please go back to V13?

Hi @pastorMark66,

Since you already own v.13, you are able to go to the Accordance store and re-download it. I don't know if issues of v.14 will carry over or not. When you do download it, make sure the Accordance program is completely closed to make sure it writes correctly.

@pastorMark66, here's what I've done to allow me to use v14. When I first installed, there was a lot wrong, including library organization being destroyed. I then transitioned to v13, reorganized my library, and decided to stick with v13 until I got word that v14 was actually ready. But, I'm stubborn, so I restarted my machine and tried v14 again. My library organization stuck. Dropbox sync worked, albeit without a progress bar. I haven't had any crashes. So, I'm now using v14 regularly. It's imperfect, but quite useable. YMMV

library organization wrecked by v14 will also wreck it in v13 unless you backed up your preference files.

v13 is now available for download on the website just as 14. so you can revert, provided you've purchased v13.

While I have NOT been a fan over what might appear as a hasty release, I have not experienced the library disaster some have spoken of! Yes, there were bugs but from where I sit NONE were “show stoppers”! Annoyances, yes, show stoppers, no! Hopefully this week will see another release bringing us back to what we users are accustomed to!

I went back to V.13 and all problems are gone! Thanks! NO V. 14 for me! Now to see if I can get a refund...

PastorMark, I am sure customer service will work with you on that, however, this week may be pivotal in stabilizing V14.

I suppose that unfortunately makes sense. :( I think a lot of us this past week have learned the importance of backing up information before overwriting programs, Accordance or otherwise.

do you have a Time Machine backup? That should have the files you need to repair or replace.

Hi @A. Smith,

I personally back up my machine every day, and for sure before any download. I don't even trust Apple. I had just been responding to your comment, "library organization wrecked by v14 will also wreck it in v13 unless you backed up your preference files." Through the various chains the past view days, it has become apparent that a lot of people did not back up their computers beforehand. I assume going forward a higher percentage of people will.

Is there no public statement addressing what's been going on? I figured that the Thanksgiving weekend prevented one, but I thought perhaps Monday would bring some attempt to address the customers. Now Rick is leaving. This is a confidence-shaker, but hopefully just a temporary one. Hopefully there is real concern and regard for the importance of Oak Tree's reputation with their customer base. Even something saying some sort of statement is forthcoming is better than silence. Perhaps I've missed something elsewhere on the forum, in which case I apologize in advance.

You have not missed a public statement. There has not been any. But you're correct in saying that we're all expecting one to come...

Where did you see / hear that announcement? I assume you mean Rick Mansfield.

Rick announced it in a thread early this morning, but that thread has now been removed.

Thank you @Kurt O. Something does not seems good about all of this. I recall when a premier magazine publisher, Reiman Publications (ala Farm & Ranch Living, Birds & Blooms, Country Woman, etc.) was sold to Readers Digest. Readers Digest ran it in the ground. A few nothing-impressive relics of the old quality remain, while some of the magazines have been or are being discontinued. I have no clue who bought Accordance, but something makes me think the transition is not going very well. I hope things turn around.

Accordance is probably in great shape, but it would help if the leadership would respond.  Negative thoughts do tend to fill a vacuum.   I do know the developers are working hard.  With every update for almost 15 years or so I downloaded immediately and while there were a few bugs, I could still use the updated version.  I missed the announcement this time and so have not yet downloaded v14.  After reading the forums, I am glad to wait.  I have been lurking on these forms for years but now just recently been actively participating.  I look forward to getting some good response from Accordance and for moving forward with v14.

I have now downloaded v14 and have had NO significant issues.  I have kept my Accordance 13 by renaming it, but so far so good.
