I pre- ordered V14 and website is saying that I already have it ,but my laptop is showing otherwise . It’s not showing any indication that I have it..

If you preordered you should have just received an email with a link to download either Windows or Mac. Just download and install that.

after I installed 14 it still looked like 13 - then I noticed dark mode in the tool bar and I found phrasing in the gear icon under the parallel button.

Sorry, I can't get many of the new features to work. I think 14 is one of the least ready and is basically an Alpha release that never should have seen the light of day. I was part of the private beta, but didn't have a lot of time to bang on it and only really used the word study feature which works for me ok. Other's can't get it to work.

 

If I were you, I'd go back to 13 until it comes to v. 14.1 or 2 or even 14.3.

I agree with @KevinPurcell. I was in the Beta group as well, and there were a lot of active bugs at the time of the release. I am sure that they will sort the bugs out, but it just isn't ready yet.
