Resizing Workspace Window When Lower Corners Inaccessible (Mac OS)?

Recommended Posts

Running 13.3.2 on a Macbook Pro (Monterey 12.2) and often switch between my laptop and a larger external display.

Often if I expand a window on the external display and forget to resize it before disconnecting, when the workspace window is forced to move to my laptop display, the bottom of th window is not visible (i.e., the window extends "below" the bottom of my screen). HOW do I resize that window???

I've tried using the "green dot" at the top of all windows (incl. with option key to Zoom)...can't figure it out.

Screen shot attached.

I use a little utility called Better Snap Tool, which is in the Mac App Store. I can grab a window at the top and hold it against the top of the screen and it will fill the dimensions of the screen without going into actual fullscreen mode. Drag to the left or right to fill up half the screen. And it's programmable for lots of different options.

I've been using it for years. One of the first things I install on a new Mac. Install it even before I install Accordance! And I end up using it multiple times a day without even thinking about it.

I just installed Better Snap Tool, but it doesn't seem to be solving this problem.

I drag the window to the top of my screen. I see the new "snap" area (which is full screen and looks like it should be what I want). But when I release, the bottom of my Accordance window remains "below" the bottom of my screen...

I even defined a new snap area and that's not working for Accordance either...though it does work nicely for other applications!

I should add that I have also quit and restarted Accordance and when it reopens, it reopens with this same window opened to the same size....

The ONLY thing that does work is closing that workspace window and opening afresh - which usually works. But a pain...

Thanks @R. Mansfieldfor the app tip, I do think it will come in handy in other work.

Interesting. I've never seen something like this not work with Better Snap Tool. Is it a reused workspace that's giving the problems? If so, I wonder if recreating the workspace would help.
