Accordance Enthusiast
Often I cannot see the accents or vowels properly in my Hebrew Texts. This is not due to mistakes in the database, but at a certain zoom the vowels and accents interfere and I read the words the wrong way due to the wrong display! Compare below: Picture 1: the word marked in read reads 'Yiruni' Picture 2: the same word at different zoom reads 'Yeireuni' This is a common problem.

Accordance Enthusiast
@Dr. Nathan Parker, is this on the roadmap yet? The problem shows up for me when the text is at size 27, larger than that works fine (please see above for explanation).
Dr. Nathan Parker
Let me ask management on this one.
mbcvida
I noticed this same thing - I noted that when the zoom level placed the word at the edge of the window, it does not seem to be capturing both dots of the tsere. When I raise or lower the zoom level so that the word moves away from the edge, the full vowel is there. It seems to happen with both Hebrew texts. If you expand the size of the window so that the word moves away from the edge, it displays correctly. the Anderson-Forbes text doesn't seem to have this issue. It may have something to do with the accents, since the Anderson-Forbes does not include the accents Edited February 13 by mbcvida added 1
Mark Allison
Yes, this is definitely an issue with Accordance, and not with the text itself. And it's a pretty serious issue that needs to be resolved asap. 3
mbcvida
i tried to replicate using different words with initial sere and they seem to display normally. It may be something that affects only the one verse.
Accordance Enthusiast
It does not affect every word or every verse but certain combinations of letters, vowels and accents. It's not a one verse issue.
mbcvida
i would be interested in seeing some other examples - I only tried with the tsere
Accordance Enthusiast
@Dr. Nathan Parker and @mbcvida and @Mark Allison, below are some more examples of this serious issue. It's especially problematic for beginners who can't always know that it's simply a mistake. In these two examples, the Qibbuts cannot be seen properly, only two dots are really visible depending on the zoom: Another example:

Accordance Enthusiast
@Dr. Nathan Parker, I would not only encourage this issue to be resolved, but also request the ability to change the display font. Compare below how well it works to use e.g. the Ezra font on Logos: Accordance: Logos (Ezra) - it always works no matter what the zoom lever is: Logos (Keter Aram Tsova):

Accordance Enthusiast
Here the spacing is also not good: Works well with Ezra font in Logos:

Dr. Nathan Parker
I'm also double-checking to ensure this is on our programmer's bug reports list and marked high-priority.

Dr. Nathan Parker
Anytime! This is on the programmer's list and marked high-priority. Next time I'm in a programmer's meeting, I'll also discuss it with them to brief them on it (or if I'm unable to make a meeting, I'll brief someone on it beforehand so they can discuss it).
Accordance Enthusiast
We also need to be able to change the font for Syriac please! (And if you can enable this feature, we really will use it for Hebrew, Greek and Syriac). See below faulty display on Accordance and correct display with custom font on Microsoft word: Custom font:
