Wordmap Targums - who is who

Kristin

Recommended Posts

I am sorry for this question as I know for sure this was explained in the Webinar and I think also here, but I am still getting confused.

When I open the Wordmap I get FTP, FTV, MMT, TN, JPJ, and TO.

HMT is obviously the Hebrew Bible, but where does it actually list what these abbreviations stand for?

Also, a secnd question, is there a way to re-order them?

Thank you for any clarity anyone is able to provide.

Sincerely,

Kristin

I requested this before.

As when you hover over the  FTP, FTV, MMT, TN, JPJ, and TO it will show the full name in Instant Details.

If you click on the FTP for example the module opens.

Also, a secnd question, is there a way to re-order them?

Not that I know at the present time.

Hi @Fabian,

I thought of the Instant Details also, but when I hover over FTP, as an example, nothing appears in the Instant Details. If I click on FTP it opens, but then it says "Fragment Targums" and does not provide info about FTP specifically. Any ideas?

Hello @Kristin

Yes, you can see "about this text" or go to Help, Read Mes, and there are files which tell you more. Or the Accordance Module info in the other Books section. Or type it in the Library. Some infos are also on the Shop site.

I know they are on different locations.

I realize now your order is different from mine. That said it should be able to reorganize it.

I haven't checked it but, try to reorder it in the library.

Hi @Fabian,

The Acc About section says it contains "Onqelos and Jonathan, and the Writings" which it super vague. If I search for FTP (as an example, it says " In this module is referred to as FTP (Fragment Targum Paris) as in most of the scholarly literature." So it seems that I can know that this is in Paris, but as far as any details apart from the location is not available.

Likewise, if I search the module for TN, I get exactly no results. So, concerning TN, there is no way to know what it actually means. Is this correct?

@Kristin You haven't checked all the possibilities I have mentioned.

TN is Targum Neophyti/Neofiti

TPJ Targum Pseudo Jonathan

TO Targum Onkelos

You can paste this in Research, it should lead you to the description.

(See the file "TARG-T - Read me first" for more details.)

Hi Fabian,

Ya, I had actually been reading that same page you pasted. It sounds like the answer is that the information is there and just needs to be matched. I guess.

Thanks for the clarification.
