Andrew Patterson
As a student, I use the citation and bibliography features quite frequently in writing papers. When doing footnotes, I simply "Copy as citation" and paste. However, when building the bibliography (I use SBL), I have to go into the Preferences > Bibliography and change the format to from "SBL Footnote" to "SBL Bibliography," else "Copy as Bibliography" is still in footnote format. Then when going back to footnoting, the format has to be reverted again. Am I missing something, or is there a way to leave the setting stand so that both formats can be exported?
Mark Allison
Sadly, there is no shortcut to switch between the two. I've been asking for one for years. But now that a user has requested one, maybe we'll see some action!
Andrew Patterson
Should this be moved to "Feature Requests," then? Also, how has no one requested this? It seems "Copy as Citation" should automatically be for footnote formats, and "Copy as Bibliography" for bibliography formats. I'd think that surely a setting could be added and some programming rearranged easily to allow this.
