Henk de Waard
Dear all, I'm still struggling quite a lot with searching my Hebrew text in Accordance. Hope someone here can help me with the following problem: What I want to look up, is all cases of a qal perfect 3rd plural-verb with a 3rd masculine singular-suffix. So I use the "enter tag" and "enter command" functions to enter the relevant command in the command line. However, when I subsequently press "enter" to do the search, Accordance says that there is a problem with the element "third" of the suffix (please see the picture below). I wonder how this problem could occur, since by using the "enter tag" function I supposed Accordance itself would create the correct tag, but apparently it didn't. Does someone understand what's going wrong here? Many thanks in advance! Henk de Waard
Mark Allison
Henk, you don't really need the <AND> command, since the suffix comes immediately after the verb. And the *@ is superfluous. so try: [VERB qal perfect third] [SUFFIX third masculine singular]
Henk de Waard
Thanks a lot, Mark, this works without problems! Additional question, though: any idea why [VERB qal perfect third plural] [SUFFIX pronominal third masculine singular] (i.e., with the class of the suffix specified as "pronominal") gives me the same error? That surprises me, even more so because [VERB qal perfect third plural] [SUFFIX pronominal masculine singular] (i.e. with the class of the suffix specified, but "third" omitted) does again work fine.
