Accordance in China?

If you look at the book Titels available trough the app, one is called “Heart for Freedom”. About how Chai Ling led the protesters at Tiananmen Square.
Even though I do not support China’s censorship, this book might have triggered the request for deletion.

They also blocked the quran app, so it doesn't seem to be a specific resource. Btw, they also want to retranslate the bible (and quran) so it is inline with their agenda. According to this article bibles already cannot be bought anymore.

Message received today from an Accordance user in China:

"The Accordance website is freely accessible in China without the use of a VPN."

@R. Mansfield

Maybe it is good to upload the Android APK, to the Accordance website and then to delete this thread, to not wake up sleeping dogs.

I guess it would be great if the Android version is downloadable from Accordance direct again.

The Android version of Accordance has always been accessible directly from our servers.

If you go to the new Download site and follow the links, it only leads to the Google Play store. No Link to the Kindle (As Olive Tree has) and no link to the website you refers.

This is by design as the basic download page is primarily for new users, so the options are purposefully limited (we also do not include a link to the Mac App Store version of Accordance). Most users will not want to side load, but a link is available from the Android page if anyone wants it. Having both the Google Play Store and the Android App Store on the same page proved confusing for some users. Most people will just download from whatever store is on their device anyway.

Side note: Olive Tree incorrectly labels their Amazon App Store version as for the Kindle. Amazon carefully distinguishes the Kindle as an e-Ink device that does not have an app store. The Amazon App Store is the default store on Amazon's line of Fire HD devices. It is true that Amazon called their first Android device a "Kindle Fire," but because of confusion moved away from that designation only to use "Fire" for them since 2014.
