Jonna Schmidt
Maybe I am not understanding the question, but I just purchased an English version of both the Jerusalem (Palestinian) and Babylonian Talmuds. Perhaps you can help me with a different issue. FOR A LONG TIME: I have had questions about John 18:31 So Pilate said to them, “Take Him yourselves, and judge Him according to your law.” The Jews said to him, “We are not permitted to put anyone to death" The problem: I could not find any sources (outside of Christian sources) about this issue. NOW: I finally found a reference in the Jerusalem Talmud that this power had been taken from the Sanhedrin about 40-years prior to the destruction of Jerusalem. II:2 A] It was taught: Forty years before the destruction of the Temple the right to judge capital cases was withdrawn, and it was in the days of Simeon b. Shatah that the right to judge property cases was withdrawn. [B] Said R. Simeon b. Yohai, “Blessed be the All-merciful that I am not a sage required to make court decisions.” SO: here is my question: I found a reference to "SHILOH" which makes reference of "Sanhedrin 98", but I do not see any such reference in either the Babylonian or Jerusalem Talmuds. The Talmud lists “Shiloh” as one of the names of Messiah (Sanhedrin 98b). Varner, William. The Messiah . AuthorHouse. Kindle Edition. When I look at my Accordance index: there isn't even a Sanhedrin 12, let alone 98!!! What am I doing wrong??? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP THAT YOU CAN OFFER. Jonna Schmidt
I am so sorry -- I must be tired; i totally misunderstood your question. I do not have any knowledge of Hebrew -- so I am not aware of any direct mechanism to help you. I know that (at least with Greek); you can enter a Greek word in a regular "biblical text -- and then (at least with Greek): there is an option to search for the occurance of said word in ALL your Greek resources. Again: I apologize that my previous answer does not answer your question, but it would seem to me (admittedly, I have NO KNOWLEDGE OF HEBREW, and I can barely differentiate between an ALEPH and an ALPHA -- but it would seem to me that: if this word is used in the Hebrew Bible: there ought to be a way to "amplify" into any other Hebrew resources. NOTE: I just just purchased in these resources in English -- is there a Hebrew option?

TYA
Quote When I look at my Accordance index: there isn't even a Sanhedrin 12, let alone 98!!! What am I doing wrong??? First, you are in the wrong Talmud. What you have open in your screenshot is the Jerusalem (Yerushalmi) Talmud, but the reference to "Shiloh" you want is in the Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 98b (or, 98:2). Here is a screenshot of it in Accordance. Also, just a little info on the numbering / versification schemes used in the Talmud. The format of "98b" refers to a page numbering system in which 98 is the page number ("daf"), and "b" is the side of the page. Accordance uses this scheme for the Babylonian Talmud, but for the Jerusalem Talmud, Accordance uses a chapter scheme (presumably because that is what Jacob Neusner chose for this version); and that is what you are seeing in your own screenshot above. Most references to the Talmud in scholarly works are to the page numbering system (e.g. Sanh. 98b)--at least as far as I know. Thank you for your help Why not use Accordance's terrific Babylonian Talmud in Hebrew-English parallel? Here is your word זין that you asked about in Sanh. 104a. It basically can mean "instrument / weapon / armor" (cf. זינא in the Peshitta version of Rom 6:13, 2Co 10:4, et al., and also in the targums in the Tanach (e.g. 2Sa 23:8).) Furthermore, you could search this same word you are interested in (זין) in the Research Tab of Accordance, and find it in all other modules that contain it. (I recommend searching both זין and זינא to find some interesting hits in various Aramaic resources, since it may be spelled slightly different, due to the definite article (א) on the end).
