TYA
The word אֶגְאָלְתִּי in Isa 63:3 is tagged as Hiphil 1st person perfect in most Hebrew modules in Accordance, but MT-ETCBC tags it is a Qal imperfect 1st person
Robert Holmstedt
The issue has to do with two very different meanings, "to redeem" versus "to defile," which is why many lexica propose two distinct roots. For "redeem," the verb does not occur in the Hiphil; for "defile" the root does not occur in the Qal. And it is the second meaning, "to make defiled" (> to stain?) that seems to fit the context. This is why you have GKC §53p explain the form as a Hiphil. I think the Hiphil parsing is more likely than the Qal parsing.
