Enoch
Accordance is selling 2 items with different titles, tho they both seem to be selected comments by "Church Fathers" on Scripture. Is there value in having both, or are they redundant? The second is on sale, but seems to be Ancient Christian Commentary like the first. ARe those prices correct? Thanks in advance: Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture (Complete 29-Volume Set) 1 X $329.00 = $329.00 Remove Ancient Christian Texts (15 Volumes) 1 X $349.00 = $349.
R. Mansfield
Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture [not on sale this week] is a completed series of commentaries that feature excerpts and quotations from various Church Fathers on (almost) every passage of Scripture. It works kind of like the Talmud offering different voices from history together on each verse or subject. Ancient Christian Texts [over 50% off this week] is a series of full commentaries (not excerpts) from Church Fathers on various books of the Bible. It is an ongoing series, not yet completed. Most of the commentaries appeared in English for the first time at time of publication. In other words, you won't find older versions of them in the Schaff series. The release notice I wrote in 2019 offers more explanation about Ancient Christian Texts. Both series are from the same publisher and meant to be complementary with each other.
