Problem with BHS, 1 Chronicles

Hello all,

I've noticed two problems with BHS which only seem to be affecting 1 Chronicles (at least I haven't seen them elsewhere). 1) There is a one-verse difference between the Hebrew text and the versions I put in parallel with it, as well as with the browse window. In the screen shot below, BHS is opened to 20:4 but the parallel and browse texts show v. 5:

The parallel version here is Segr (Segond révisée which, unlike some translations, always follows the Hebrew versification), but the problem is also with ESV and, I assume, other translations.

2) Also in 1 Chronicles, but not elsewhere—from what I've seen—if I triple-click to go to the definition of a word in my default lexicon (DCH), the word comes up but the search does not bring up the instances of the word in that verse (i.e., the hyperlinked scripture references to the verse on which I'm searching).

I'm using the most up-to-date version of Accordance and the Hebrew text. Thanks for fixing this!

Yeah, looks like there's something going on there. I'll take a look.

1 Chr 20:4 of the HMT-W4 is wrongly aligned with 1 Chr 20:5 of the other English versions.

BHS-T is worse:

Expand

I can repro it.

The bug begins with 1Chr 12:4-5. As the HMT-W4 is has 2 separate verses for the 1Chr 12,4 in the English Bibles. And holds it until the end of 1Chr.

May more Texts are affected than your 3 that you show in the screenshot.

This has to be fixed.

Fabian, I'm not seeing what you're seeing. Can you and Donald make sure you both have the release versions of BHS-T (1.8) and HMT-W4 (1.8)? If you have newer versions, please delete them and reinstall via Easy Install.

BHS-T is 1.8 and Andersen-Forbes is 2.0, I have today all deleted and reinstalled.  So the MT-AFD 2.0  is a fresh install from today.

As I see on your image you are 1 verse too early. The bug begins with 12.4 and 12.5.

If I open HMT-W4 1.8 and the Schlachter 2K in Parallel. 1Chronicles 12.5 is missing. As I noted in the thread from martinacc the bug begins 12.4 as it is divided.

No the oposite: Not --, but verse 5 is lost.

I'm working with BHS 2.1

Please don't forget the second problem, which is equally frustrating:

"2) Also in 1 Chronicles, but not elsewhere—from what I've seen—if I triple-click to go to the definition of a word in my default lexicon (DCH), the word comes up but the search does not bring up the instances of the word in that verse (i.e., the hyperlinked scripture references to the verse on which I'm searching)."

Thanks Mark!

Verse 5 in the NIV and ESV are combined in 12:4 of the HMT and BHS. When you move to 1Chr. 12:5 in the Hebrew it will display nothing in the NIV and ESVS and then continue with 12:6.

That's at least part of the issue. Please delete the BHS-T and reinstall using Easy Install. The correct version is 1.8.

Mark

I'm on BHS 1.8 and the Schlachter. Where is now verse 5?

Ah I see it the search text was MT-AFD. Which is still on 2.0.

I have the most recent version of all of my modules and it seems that this is still a problem and that it begins in 1Chronicles chapter 13 and goes all the way to the end of 2Chronicles. I just started in 1Chronicles 1 and skipped from chapter to chapter using the keyboard shortcuts.

This bug also screws with the mouseover highlighting. David in 13:1 in the HMT cross-links with David in 13:2 in the LXX and NAS95S.
