Citation not working

Recommended Posts

I cannot get copy as "citation" or "bibliography" to work. It only pastes the highlighted text.

No success in any applications: Pages, notes, text edit or in this text editor.

No success with shortcuts ctr + cmd + c or edit -> copy as -> citation

I need some help soon. Trying to get a school paper done.

Mac OS Big Sur 11.5

Accordance 13.2.1

Mac Air M1

We're working on a fix for the bug that prevents citations from working properly in User Notes. Apple removed the "hooks" that allowed proper citations in Pages several years ago, and we haven't found a workaround yet.

Perhaps it has something to do with an M1 Mac but mine is working perfectly.

I can highlight text, choose shortcuts ctr + cmd + c or edit -> copy as -> citation, or the ctr click contextual menu. The use cmd+v to paste in Pages.

For Scripture references I use the Accordance Services. I use Acc-Insert Query Verses NKJV (one that I modified to use the NKJVS).

Billy (from Accordance) solved my issue today.

If you're having the same problem, try this:

go to Accordance Preference (located in the Accordance Drop down menu on a Mac and the Edit drop down menu on a Windows PC)
> Bibliography
and uncheck ‘Insert citation only as footnote’

and then try the process again.

I don't know if this got broken at some point (seeing it's 2023 now), but this is not working for me. The box is unchecked and I still get no citation or bibliographic information.

@Anthony Estes I'd email Tech Support on this one.
