Outis
Hello, Where could I find out the textual basis for the NT & OT Peshitta texts? Are they eclectic texts? Or are they diplomatic texts? Thanks,
jlm
Try the Readmes: see the Help menu on the desktop program, or the module called Accordance Module Information on a mobile device. It says this about the OT: “This module represents a morphologically tagged transcription of the seventh century based on Ambrosianus codex of the Peshitta (7a1 in the Leiden Peshitta). See below for the contents of Codex Ambrosianus. For the lacuna at Num 3:23-5:10 we incorporated 6b1 (London, British Museum). We used the photographic reproduction published by A. M. Ceriani, Translatio Syro Pescitto Veteris Testamenti ex codice Ambrosiano sec. fere VI. photolithographice edita. London: Apud Williams et Norgate, 1876-1883. The transcription was prepared by Jerome Lund (Ex-Deut) and Jason Driesbach (Gen). The analysis was done by Martin Abegg and Jerome Lund. Anthony Meyer did some proofing.” The NT is “based on Dr. George A. Kiraz’s SEDRA 3 database.” You’ll have to look there to see if it’s based on Ambrosianusor something else.
