Brian Mann
Can you please tell me how to fix this error in Papers? It reads I/O Error #0 in the file.... and comes up repeatedly throughout editing. Much thanks in advance 😀
Tim Hall
I have had that for ages. It doesn't seem to affect anything though. So, I just dismiss it assuming Accordance doesn't like my naming conventions but manages to deal with it.
Silas Marrs
I believe if you hit Cmd+C while the error dialog is in front (without selecting any text), it should copy debug information for the error message. If you can post that here, I can try to determine what causes this.
Tim Hall
I will try to do that. It only seems to happen to me when I make a new paper though.
Tim Hall
I was able to obtain the following: Accordance Aleph 13.1.6rc2 (13.1.5.13392) MacOS 11.2.3 I/O Error #0 in the file “James 2.1-13.apaper” Load Address: 0x00000000018b5000 Backtrace: $00000001019082EE $000000010190868A $000000010190732B $00000001019309A9 $0000000101930EC5 $0000000101930AA7 $00000001019BF96D $00000001019BFAE6 $000000010209CDEE $00000001020A28D1 $00000001020A2953 $000000010196B97A $00007FFF2136B50F $00007FFF205B790D $00007FFF205B73E8 $00007FFF205B6F42 $00007FFF2059D57F $00007FFF2059C6CE $00007FFF28824630 $00007FFF2882442C $00007FFF2882414F $00007FFF22DBC9B1 $00007FFF22DBB177 $00007FFF22DAD68A $000000010194D573 $00000001018B94D0 $00000001021E3989 $0000000000000001 Hope it helps. If you need anything else, let me know. Steps after creating a new paper that I do with the paper: 1.rename it 2.move it in my library (I keep me papers organized by year and book/series title 3.sync w/dropbox 4.save the session the error seems to happen after I click in & around the program. It also has a tendency to pop up when saving the session the first time. When I re-open the session, I never seem to get the error. jarcher
Maybe try to rename the file to something like "Kings" and see if you still get it. My hunch is that it's related to the filename.
Silas Marrs
Papers are also constantly autosaving. If some other app is syncing your papers folder (onedrive, maybe?) that might cause a write permission error like this.
Tim Hall
Well ... I use Dropbox to sync them so they are in the DropBox Accordance folder and the Accordance folder in my Documents folder. I do save the sessions onto OneDrive (as my church uses that) ...
