An empty Instant Details pane displays

*Tap Go

Error: The language of the selected text is not used in the tool "tool_name"

This may possibly be the case for tools with external links and may probably relate to the empty Instant Details pane.

Arnold, I have no idea why your graphics didn't come through. Could you try posting them again?

Hi Ruby,

Thanks for sharing.

I drag & drop the graphics here. Perhaps they didn't show because I pasted the full message with clips included.

How would I go about deleting these posts?

Thanks

What have you got your Settings -> Tool Display -> Hypertext and Alt text set to ?

I set mine to a Greek text or to ESVS and it comes up fine.

I'm on the same version as you on Android 10 on an S10

thx

Hypertext settings:

Text: ESVS

Alt text: NIV (2011) with Enhanced G/K; or NA28 Greek NT; or American Standard Version

Alternatively:

Text: NIV (2011) with Enhanced G/K; or NA28 Greek NT; or American Standard Version

Alt text: ESVS

Thanks,

Arnold

Ok. I tried a couple of variations from your settings and ID works from Thayer for the example here in βάπτιζω and for others.

Hopefully someone else can comment or the dev team can suggest what might be going on.

I suppose a re-install of the app might work but then you have to reinstall the content so hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Thx

Appreciating.

Kindly note there aren't any graphics in your post.

I have already reinstalled a number of times.

Thanks

Arnold

I didn't see the need to post any but if you want an example of what it looks like when it works I can post it.

Thx

OK. Your screenshot extremely useful and informative.

My phone was in night mode, so with Accordance in dark mode the ID pane is empty (or if anything is there, it simply can't be seen at all).

(Perhaps you may want to verify this on your phone?)

With dark mode off, the ID pane now displays exactly as in your graphic.

Next question please - what result do you get when tapping Go?

I get Error message" The language of the selected text is not used in the tool "Thayer".

What would be the purpose of Go here?

Thanks,

A

Ah ok. So tapping Go gives me the error you posted - The language of the selected text is not used in the tool "Thayer". I believe the intent would be for Go to take you to the module itself. I tried tapping on the vs ref in the ID pane and that did nothing. There is no Amplify from the tool as you get in the text so it may be that this doesn't work yet or the same way. But Go looks broken.

Dark mode works for me:

Considering the error - Perhaps the message means as it states.

A verse reference isn't in a particular language and therefore: "the language of the selected text is not used in the tool".

I also get nothing from tapping anything in the ID. Nothing is selectable.

What I realize is that I need a basic and simple overview of what hypertexts to what between the different texts and tools. Any suggestions highly appreciated.

For me seeing information in the ID is like having the lights on the Christmas tree (partially) going on.

Perhaps also no amplify due to a reference

I usually work the other way around. From text to tool. And there mostly gnt or lxx to bdag or lsj. On the desktop app you can amplify from a tool verse ref to a text. I was expecting the same here

Thx

I think in the desktop version the ID also gives static information only. Not selectable?

I'll need to experiment as is relatively new to me.

I feel so chuffed that I at least can see info now in ID

I couldn't find anything giving a basic explanation on how to understand what to expect working from text to tool or vice versa.
