Is there anyway to link our old accounts with the new accounts?

Mine seems to have been linked automatically, but maybe it's because I used the same email address for my old forum account as for my accordance account.

Tim, there is. Technically yours is now merged. However, you were our guinea pig in this. Your accounts are merged, but your personal info, avatar photo, etc. were erased. But all your posts are still tied to your account. We learned from your case and will be doing things differently with anyone else we merge so that the personal info is not lost. Sorry about that!

I'm experiencing some issues with the account.

 

My Acc account and the Acc Forum account are different.

 

I used to use my Acc Forum account name and PW to login. When I click the login button at the new Forum, it only has one option: login with Acc.

I tried the Forum account, it says that account did not exist.

After some attempt, somehow, I was automatically logged in. It asked me to put a display name, which I put. I thought it was the old Forum account. After logging in, I found out it is the Acc account, not the old Forum account.

 

Now, I tried to log out and log in with my old Forum account, it displays an error message. And there is only one option: Sign in with Acc. How can I get my old Forum account back?

I used a different email account for Forum and the official Acc website. How can you know they belong to the same person?

 

BTW, I really love to see that I am able to paste a screenshot into the post editor from the SystemClipboard.

There are always going to be some headaches and gotchas when combining two large userbases, especially as some of our users, as you note, use separate e-mail addresses for forums vs website.  Some of those choices are deliberate, like yours, some are accidental or incidental.

 

If you want us to merge your accounts, post in the forums, or send a message to @R. Mansfieldand he'll merge the accounts when able.  But, remember, you don't *have* to merge your accounts!  We automatically created new accordancebible.com accounts for any forums e-mails that had not yet created accounts.  You'll just need to reset the password on that newly created account.  So, from the login page, go to 'Lost my password?", enter your forums e-mail, and finish the password reset process.  You should then be able to access your old account and content, with your old forums e-mail address, just with a fresh password.

Well ... I suppose someone had to be the guinea pig ... glad to help. Now I get to put new things about myself. Hmmm, who do I want to be today?

Just let others know:

My issue was: I used my Acc account to log into the new Forum. After that, I couldn't see this pw reset option...The forum remembers me and automatically logs me in. I switched to another web browser, and was able to see the "Lost my password" option. So I guess we need to clear the browsing data, cookies, etc. to get us to this page.

 

I went through the pw reset process for the old Forum account. So, it looks like now, every Acc Forum account will have an Acc account attached. Unless we merge the accounts, we will have two sets of Acc account + forum account.
