Darin Franklin
The Help file says: Open parallel tools and notes in vertical orientation: When selected, Tools and Notes selected from the Add Parallel button will open beside the original Text, rather than below it. I want the notes pane to open on the right hand side, so this preference is enabled. Add Parallel > Notes does what I want. Now, when I do ⌘5 (Amplify > Context), and it opens a new tab, I expect it to put the notes pane in the same location as the original tab. Instead, it opens a new tab with the notes pane in the opposite location of the original tab. Try it: Enable this preference in Preferences > General: Open parallel tools and notes in vertical orientation. Open a workspace with a single text or search tab. Do Add Parallel > Notes. It opens to the right hand side of the text, as expected. Now click a verse in the text and do ⌘5 (Amplify > Context). It opens a new tab with the notes pane on the bottom instead of on the right. Close the new tab. Do Move Down on the notes pane so that it is below the text pane. Do ⌘5 again. Now it opens a new tab with the notes on the right hand side. It always opens in the opposite position of the original tab. Now disable that preference and try it again. Add Parallel > Notes opens a pane below the text, as expected. ⌘5 opens a new tab with notes below the text, as expected. Close the new tab. Do Move Up on the notes pane so that it is on the right side of the text in the original tab. ⌘5 opens a new tab with notes on the right, as expected. It is consistent. So, the problem seems to happen only when that preference is enabled.
