Paul Meiklejohn
I've noticed a few small bugs in stacks in the most recent version of Acc. 1. The icon on the tool bar is not always responsive, i.e on first opening Acc. the icon is dormant. 2. Holding down the icon greys out the most recent times
Joel Brown
Paul, can you clarify what you mean? Its a button that either you click, to add the selection to the stack, or you click and hold to get the menu. The menu lists other stacks you can add the selection to, but if you don't have a selection, they will be dim.
Paul Meiklejohn
Joel, I may be misunderstanding this... If you look at my screenshot you'll see I have a number of recent files. They are greyed out, (they are available from my library to open from there). Can you please explain what you mean by... "The menu lists other stacks you can add the selection to, but if you don't have a selection, they will be dim" Sorry if I have this wrong and thanks for the clarification. Joel Brown
I see the confusion! The button name is actually "Add to Stack", but you aren't showing you toolbar button names. Its specifically a helper for finding a selection and adding it to a specific stack. In your screenshot, nothing is selected, so nothing can be added to a stack. If you want to open a stack that is not your current one, you'll either need to: 1) Open it from the Library, or 2) Open your current stack and then change to the other one using the menu in the corner or 3) Make a selection, add it to your new stack, then delete the item that was added.
Paul Meiklejohn
Ah! Brilliant. I get it now. I'm amazed that I haven't noticed that before. I guess I'm just used to creating new stacks and adding to them using the keyboard shortcut opt-cmd K. Thanks for your help.
Tom Caton Sr.
@Paul Meiklejohn I am surfing the post on stacks topics looking for help. I have a similar issue and I am still confused as to why stack papers are grayed out unless it is a current in use stack. All my created stacks have always been visible . This just started a few weeks ago for me. I also have the same issue with the info pane.
Paul Meiklejohn
Tom, if you read Joel's post you'll see that you need to highlight some text in order to make the stacks available. You may need to go into the library / my stuff / my stacks and open them manually just to refresh the stacks. However the key thing is to make sure you have something highlighted and ready to stack, otherwise they will be greyed out. Paul
