T. Conrad
I'm finally trying to consolidate my notes, and I've been using Acc mobile for quite some time. Unfortunately many notes files that show up on mobile do not show up on the Mac app. (I'm on 12.3.6 on desktop and 3.0.4 on iOS.) The notes files in question which will not open on Acc 12 on my Mac have no file extension, whereas the ones that do have an extension (.amynotes) open fine and seem to work. Dropbox syncing is configured and working correctly. (I've edited notes files with the extension and they sync both ways between mobile device and desktop.) To be clear: the actual note files in question DO sync via Dropbox, just Accordance for some reason will not use them. Is there a way to convert these extension-less notes files or to merge their content into another notes file that syncs? P.S. I've tried simply adding the extension and opening in Acc 12, but (as expected) it did not working complaining about them being from a newer version of Accordance. Thanks in advanced. -Tim
Fabian
As you have installed Accordance 12 it asked to convert the Notes in a new format. It seems you have denied then. Go to settings--> User Files --> Upgrade User Notes. Then you have 2 Folders in the Accordance Folder. One "Old User Notes" and "User Notes". The first are before the conversion. Or is there the confusion? http://accordancefiles2.com/helpfiles/OSX12/Default.htm#topics/10_ref/prefs/preferences_user-files.htm Greetings Fabian Edited October 19, 2019 by Fabian
T. Conrad
Unfortunately, that option is not there. Under Preferences > User Notes, I have the following: https://imgur.com/a/zZh8D6O
T. Conrad
RESOLVED: I got the button to show up by moving all new notes files out of the directory, renaming all the old notes files to have the .acc4 extension, launching Accordance and installing the notes files as acc4 files. Then I was able to upgrade. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
