It seems like there is no book on Church history that are used in seminary on Accordance. These are the books that are used commonly in Bible college and seminary:

1. Gonzalez, Justo L. The Story of Christianity: Volume II, The Reformation to the Present Day. 2nded. New York: Harper Collins, 2010.

2. Noll, Mark A. Turning Points: Decisive Moments in the History of Christianity. 2nded. Grand Rapids: Baker Academic, 2012.

3. Shelley, Bruce. Church History in Plain Language.3rded. Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1995.

4. Gonzalez, Justo. Church History: An Essential Guide.Nashville: Abingdon Press, 1996.

5. MacCulloch, Diarmaid. Christianity: The First Three Thousand Years.New York: Viking Penguin, 2010.

Can we get some of these?

I cant speak for most of these but i would be wary of the diarmaid macculloch volume. I got it when it was first published and he has his own agenda which comes through very, very clearly in his text. As i read this volume i find i am having to go to my other resources for a slightly more balanced and less 'colourful' account, particularly around the formation of the creeds and early church (which is as far as ive got as i got a bit fed up with him on his 'soap box').

Yes its useful for a single volume which is very readable but it isnt a very balanced volume. Which is a shame because he has clearly done his research very thoroughly but hes been very selective in what hes decided to include to support his agenda. His style makes for very good 'entertainment' tv series.

I'm shocked that volume 1 of The Story of Christianity was left off of the list!   ;-)

When I was in seminary, we used both volumes of Gonzalez's Story in my intro Church History courses. It would be great to have his works in Accordance. I also took a historical theology class years ago where we used Gonzalez's History of Christian Thought books. Good stuff.
