Tim Hall
So, now that Mojave is out I put together a kinda dark mode... It would be excellent if Accordance adopted this though (and surely did a better job with it).

Helen Brown
This will probably have to wait for the next major rev.
Tony Lawrence
I understand the appreciation for the energy saving using Dark Mode and perhaps that some think it looks better, but please keep the option to retain the "Light" mode. Many of our older eyes strain to see apps that run only in Dark Mode. “And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness...” Genesis 1:4 NKJV
Mark Allison
I understand the appreciation for the energy saving using Dark Mode and perhaps that some think it looks better, but please keep the option to retain the "Light" mode. If Accordance introduces a Dark Mode (and I imagine we will at some point), it would certainly be an optional mode.
A. Smith
Not a fan of dark mode myself. Makes me want to turn the lights on. And they're already on! I suppose if I worked in the dark it would be useful/fun.
A.D. Riddle
This was in the news recently https://utnews.utoledo.edu/index.php/08_08_2018/ut-chemists-discover-how-blue-light-speeds-blindness In addition to older claims that blue light interferes with normal sleep cycles https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/block-blue-light-to-sleep-better So for me, dark mode would not be about saving energy, but about saving my eyesight and sleep. I have used Flux to change my display tones at night, but that is not a practical solution if I am working on images. A.D.
Rich
Another vote for adding dark mode (which is also in Windows as well). It is much easier on my old(er) eyes (with my trifocals) which have to stare at a screen 12-14+ hours a day. As someone noted, there is mounting scientific proof to back up the benefits as well. Not trying to force anyone else to use it, but options are nice! Accordance is one of the few apps that I still use daily that doesn't have a dark mode (many had started implementing dark mode even prior to Mojave) and I write software in dark mode as well, which is now making me hide the Accordance window immediately after using the app rather than keeping it open on my desktop like I normally do, otherwise it becomes a blinding spotlight. I also certainly understand it is one of many competing priorities for a development team!!!
Julia Falling
I also find dark mode much more comfortable. I have always had glare-sensitive eyes. Cataracts have made the problem worse. Dark mode makes it better. The issue I have with running Accordance, even on an iPad or iPhone in night theme is that my highlights hardly show up. We'll wait for a dark mode, but highlights will be taken into account, right?
Joel Arnold
+1 on dark mode. Really helps me on eye strain. Also maintaining highlights would be important.

loyukfai
+1 (for Windows too) Note: The Android version just introduced a "Night Mode" which is similar to what I'd like to see on the desktop version too. Thanks! Edited November 24, 2018 by loyukfai
tracklog
Just to keep this topic alive! I once again tried Accordance only to find it still does not have dark mode. All I see in light mode is my floaties against the bright white screen. Light is your friend but only when it is on the subject you are looking at, not when it is in your face, that's why people wear sunglasses. No dark mode is a deal breaker for me especially when I can make e-Sword (free) have almost a complete dark theme with a few tweaks that Accordance can't match, Logos has it, Bible gateway has it. Time to put in the effort folks! God Bless those efforts and you. For now I will be uninstalling it once more till that time comes.
Misulejoha
For what it's worth.. Accordance does offer dark mode for both Windows and Mac. Windows unfortunately requires an upgrade from v13 to v14, which is available in the Accordance store. https://www.accordancebible.com/product/accordance-software-version-14/
Nathan Parker
Also, Accordance got Dark Mode for Mac before Logos got it. It did take us longer to bring it to Windows.
