Genesis is available as book. When will it be available in Accordance?

It usually takes a long while before we get the text from the publishers.

Any update on this one? Would love to keep adding to my Quinta collection. I opted for the Accordance version over the print as it was more cost effective and much easier to navigate with the apparatus and apparatus commentary!

No updates. When the electronic files are available, GBS will provide them to us and we will slate for development. It is not at all uncommon for this process to take a year (or more) after publication to happen.

Accordance, any updates?

We still have not received any additional volumes from GBS. We are hopeful for one new volume this year, but cannot say for certain at this point.

The other guys already have BHQ Genesis up and ready- Is there an update here? I could really use the volume and don't want to have to invest elsewhere

Hello Matt

I guess the BHQ Genesis will come in the week of the Annual Meeting from the SBL & AAR. Check the releases of the last years.

Look for this very soon. I mean VERY soon.

From The Office, Season 5:

Kevin: Pam?

Pam: Mmm Hmm?

Kevin: When will the new copier be ready?
Pam: I'm working on it, Kev.

Kevin: You said it would be ready by today. And it is today.
Pam: It'll be ready soon.

Kevin: Soon could mean anything. Soon could be 3 weeks.
Pam: Is that what 'soon' means to you?

Kevin: Sometimes.
Pam: Then come back soon.

From Deep Space Nine, season 7, episode 6: "Treachery, Faith, and the Great River."

Chief O'Brien: [on Chief Lorenzo] So, once he has his picture, he's going to send us the graviton stabilizer?

Nog: No. He is giving us an induction modulator.

Chief O'Brien: But we don't need an induction modulator.

Nog: But the USS Musashi does.

Chief O'Brien: Aah. So the Musashi's going to send us the stabilizer?

Nog: No. They're giving us a phaser emitter.

Chief O'Brien: But we don't need a phaser emitter!

Nog: I know. But the USS Sentinel does, and *they* have the extra stabilizer.

Chief O'Brien: And they're willing to give it up for a phaser emitter?

Nog: That's the rumor.

Chief O'Brien: Rumor? What, you-you've made all these deals based on a rumor?

Nog: From a very reliable source.

Chief O'Brien: But what if it turns out not to be true?

Nog: You have to have faith, Chief.

Chief O'Brien: In a rumor?

Nog: No. In the Great Material Continuum.

Chief O'Brien: [sighs] Who are they?

Nog: It's not a 'they'. It's the force that binds the universe together.

Chief O'Brien: I must have missed that class in engineering school.

I have serious concerns about the quality of Accordance BHQ Genesis body (main) text.

In checking 29 of its words against the paper edition, I found 6 words differing.

I see no reason any word should differ, if this module was properly prepared from digital sources from the publisher, with no OCR or (error-prone) human input involved.

I'm starting to suspect that something like one or more of the following may have happened:

  • the publisher provided Accordance with files not corresponding to the paper edition
  • Accordance converted the files using some error-prone process
  • the publisher merely provided a list of changes with respect to BHS, and this list was either incomplete, or incompletely executed by Accordance

Nice catch. Maybe the publisher found typos in their print edition that they have since updated in the electronic file. The only way we can know for sure is to compare with Codex Leningrad. 😃

Benjamin,

I checked all of your examples and the Accordance text matches the original source files provided by the publisher. So, it does not appear that we introduced an error in the development process. I will check with the publisher regarding updated files.

In the meantime, if you find another error, then please click on the word using the contextual menu and "Report a Correction."
