NET Bible Second Edition and how they do it?

On November 29, they announcing the NET Bible Second Edition. Here are the first 3 things they changed.

  1. Both OT and NT have updated Strong's tagged using phrase tagging as well as multiple number tagging.
  2. This detailed Strong's tagging was used to detect and correct inconsistencies across the OT.
  3. Divine names in the OT have been made more consistent.

MY QUESTION HERE is,

How can we achieve what they did like above/below WITH Accordance?

Eg.

1. phrase tagging as well as multiple number tagging.

2. Strong's tagging was used to detect and correct inconsistencies

3. Divine names in the OT

Welcome to the forum!

Not sure of your background or Accordance experience so here is an initial response, others will provide greater detail.

The niv has phrase tagging (g/k not strongs)

Assuming you have tagged versions of original language texts in addition to the tagged esv that comes with all Accordance packages:

I would use analytics on the original language to see how a word is translated.

There are two excellent pod casts on analytics if you have not explored them.

https://www.accordancebible.com/resources/multimedia/details/?id=157074

https://www.accordancebible.com/resources/multimedia/details/?id=157007

This will show ‘inconsistencies’ where the same word has been translated differently by the different translators or following agreement by the committee or how different original words have been translated to the same English word. (I found brunn’s book ‘one bible many versions’ to be a useful starting point but he also refers to Strauss ‘how to choose a translation for all its worth’ which is in accordance and I think I should have got instead).

Divine names, again run a search on either the English or hebrew (or greek lxx) and see how translated in analytics

Wait for Accordance to get net second edition.

We do plan to get the second edition of the valuable NET as soon as we can.

Will this be phrase tagged? Since getting Accordance and being introduced to tagged versions...

Would be great to have the second edition but still wish to keep the first for comparison.  Please update us with any progress on its release.  In addition, how we can keep both version as was done with HCSB to CSB?  We are coming up on a year.

+1 also interested in this. Particularly if the phrase tagging is brought over.

We will have whatever tagging the NET people have added to it. We do not do our our own.
