Dr. Nathan Parker Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I've noticed that Accordance has a feature called Syntax charts where I can build my own Syntax charts. Is this similar to the Syntax Databases in Logos? Or are they totally different? Thanks! Nathan
Helen Brown Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 No, our feature is very simple and has been there since version 3, 1997. It is just a spreadsheet which enters the words, parsing, and gloss from your selection and lets you edit everything but the words, and add your own comments on Function and other things. This can then be saved or exported in columns. You can try this out with the demo texts. At this point we do not have a database that gives you the syntax as prepared by another person, but this lets you create your own.
Dr. Nathan Parker Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 I see. I did generate a chart using a demo text to see how it works. Nice feature! I like being able to create my own Syntax tagging spreadsheets, so I can now determine particular Syntax structures. Thanks for pointing this feature out to me! Once I get one of your higher end packages, I'll really be working with this feature. Nathan
