wayyiqtol label

I appreciate the ability to switch to the more neutral morphological labels when searching for Hebrew verbs (qatal instead of perfect, yiqtol instead of imperfect, etc.), but I just noticed that the term for wawConsecutive is currently spelled wayiqtol. It should be wayyiqtol with a doubled y.

Google gives some 500 results for the single y form and 11,000 for the double, so you are correct that it would be best to fix this.

And most of those 500 are typos, mis-hits in the search engine (wǝyiqtol hit as wayiqtol) or referring to a separate phenomenon (wa + yiqtol, not wayyiqtol). You trust Google over a PhD and loyal Accordance user? :)

Pete's correct. There should be two "y"s in the label. I noticed this a week or so ago but forgot to post it.

Hi,

First, I'd like to thank Accordance again for this new label.

For the sake of non-specialists on the Forum, the SBL Handbook of Style says to transliterate dagesh forte with a doubled consonant (the dagesh in the yod in וַיִּקְטֹל) (for both academic and general-purpose style) and not to transliterate silent shewa (academic style, and for general-purpose style assumed), so of course, Drs. Bekins and Holmstedt are correct.

Regards,

Michel

I was trusting that Google's huge majority for wayyiqtol is correct, and suggesting that we fix this for the next release.

Yes, just teasing. Thanks for fixing it.
