andytufnell
There is currently only one reason why I still have the Logos & Olive Tree Bible Study apps on my iPhone. When I copy and paste text from any bible translation the verse numbers never carry over with Accordance. Could there please be a setting to allow for this? Perhaps there could be an option to paste with verse numbers inline and another option to paste each verse on a separate line. This, I gather, is a relatively straight forward bit of programming, but would have a profound effect on its interactability with other apps. Ken Simpson
Hi Andy, what exactly do you mean? I get verse numbers when I copy and paste... e.g.. "Gen. 1:2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Gen. 1:3 ¶ And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. " copied straight out of my iOS app.
rmeischke
Thanks for raising this subject. However, my problem is the opposite. I like having a full reference at the start or end of a Scripture citation, but I don't like the repeated "Gen 1:2...Gen 1:3...etc throughout. If I'm using it for printing off or for reading out or for screen presentation, I need to go through the passage to remove each individual verse reference or replace them with simple numbers, as it looks in a normal Bible. Ken Simpson
Ah yes, so this (copy as citation) is available on the desktop app only at the moment. I don’t know if there are plans to implement this into v2. Someone else will need to comment on that.
hogan82
I would definitely like the ability to copy the citation format. I keep a copy of PocketBible on my phone for the same reason Andy keeps Logos and Olive Tree.
Chris Rockwell
We will have to look into adding this in a future release, but I agree, it's something we need to iOS. Thanks for the feedback, Chris iOS Developer
JTG
This would be super helpful and definitely increase my use of the iOS app.
William Milks
The multiple-reference-copy feature on iOS is simple enough to use, but the results are less than ideal. Simple enough to use: paste in multiple references; search; hold-press the first reference; tap the right arrow repeatedly to select some or all of the verses you desire to copy; select copy. However, when you paste the results, there are no verse numbers—only a reference/citation at the end of the pasted verses; furthermore, no clear divisions between the multiple pasted passages. So, I get the multiple texts I’m trying to copy from app to wherever, but it’s all basically one block of text—not helpful. Please update the multiple-reference-copy feature to include book-chapter divisions, plus verse numbers within the text. Thank you!

ukfraser
William, While you are waiting for your ideal solution, there is a sort of workaround. if you run your search And then select the first word of the text, not the verse, you can then scroll down to select all the text and then choose copy and then paste in you app and the formatting is retained BUT you do loose the first verse reference so you could run the search with an additional verse before and delete it after pasting (below is from search amos 8:1-4, ps 150 but i have also run with setting for text in paragraphs! So ive only lost the initial verse label amos 8:1 .) This is what the Lord GOD showed me: behold, a basket of summer fruit. 2 And he said, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A basket of summer fruit.” Then the LORD said to me, “The end has come upon my people Israel; I will never again pass by them. 3 The songs of the temple shall become wailings in that day,” declares the Lord GOD. “So many dead bodies!” “They are thrown everywhere!” “Silence!” Amos 8:4 Hear this, you who trample on the needy and bring the poor of the land to an end, Psa. 150:1 Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! 2 Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Psa. 150:3 Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! 4 Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! 5 Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD! Edited June 30, 2021 by ukfraser
