    Citation copy problems

““For if you rgive others for their transgressions” —Matthew 6:14 NAS95 This is what happens when I use the citation copy and paste. Sometimes it leaves letters out. It does not matter what application I am pasting to. The above citation had the same result in MS Word for Mac and then here again on my forum post. I have tried different citation settings in the preferences, but can't find anything that changes the outcome. Does citation not work for partial verses? Although I think it leaves out letters when I copy complete verses as well. I was hoping today's update would resolve this, but it does not. ===== Let me add this again for the record. For a multi hundred dollar piece of software that is used for precision text work, I would expect copy and paste to work, and I would expect better text export options. I am a recent BW user trying to adjust to Accordance. I really like so much of this software so far and some of my frustration centers on my being behind the learning curve.
  2. I am a 100% Newbie. I just moved from BibleWorks. The Word List in the info pane has no preference settings that I can find. I can't find anything in tutorials or help. I would like be be able to set the word list to verse > chapter > book. Am i missing something? In Bible works there was a Word Frequency window that the context for word frequency could be changed. The results could be sorted by frequency or alphabetically. I don't see a great benefit of a word list for one verse.
  3. I posted this earlier in response to an old thread about iOS, but I figured it could use its own thread. Here are some macOS Automator Workflows that find verse references in selected text, and either open them in Accordance or display the text in a popup dialog. Once downloaded, just double-click to install the services. The one named "Accordance-Open References" will: Find references in the selected text. Show a selection dialog of references found. Open Accordance and search the default text for the selected references. ("Accordance-Open References (all)" skips step 2. The one named "Accordance-Verse Popup" will: Find references in the selected text. Show a selection dialog of references found. Show a popup dialog with the text of the selected verses. ("Accordance-Verse Popup (all)" skips step 2. One caveat, the dialog isn't scrollable, so it truncates the results if they are longer than will fit on screen. However, all verses are still there, so you can do a select all in the dialog and copy all verses. As with any Service, you can create keyboard shortcuts in System Preferences for quick activation. 4. Ever since I got Accordance two years ago, and with every subsequent update, I have had issues with the "Copy>Copy as Citation" function. Anytime I paste it, it randomly removes spaces. See below the text of Eph. 1:3-10. The space is removed between "places," and "even"; "love" and "he"; "Beloved." and "In" and so on. What's very frustrating is that for some reason only a handful will be caught by the spell check so I will often print and distribute documents with these annoying typos. Any help? (I use a Mac) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In lovehe predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insightmaking known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christas a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.” (Ephesians 1:3–10 ESV)
  5. I was helping a friend, Accordance 12.3.3 non-MAS on macOS. It crashed hard upon launch, reset some prefs and removing all auto-saved sessions made it possible to launch Accordance again. But: The Easy install/Content updates window (mis)behaves weirdly: If there are updates, I was able to download/install them, as I could press Enter for "Download" and "Install". But if I try to click anything using the mouse, I just get this error beep/sound (like if you're trying to click something that's impossible to click). It's so stuck, I had to Force Quit to quit Accordance. (Though the app didn't really hang, I just could not get out of the Easy install/Updates window. (Clicking red close X in top left did not work either.) Any hints on what to check?

    Software Crash

    Hi- I need help in dealing with how to keep the software from crashing. I am on a project that is stalled due to this issue. I would talk to tech support but they are out for the weekend. I have tried recovering last session, and simply opening individual workspaces. I am running the latest software update and High Sierra. This is the last crash log: Accordance Crash Log 10/20/18, 2:39:22 PM Program Version: 12.2.9 (12.2.9) OS Version: 10.13.6 Message: Access violation Address: $000000010B9A2A1F Backtrace: 0 acord 0x000000010b9a2a1f acord + 2951711 1 acord 0x000000010b99fe00 acord + 2940416 2 acord 0x000000010b99cad4 acord + 2927316 3 acord 0x000000010b99c716 acord + 2926358 4 acord 0x000000010b982817 acord + 2820119 5 acord 0x000000010b9822d7 acord + 2818775 6 acord 0x000000010bd46c33 acord + 6769715 7 acord 0x000000010bd46e5e acord + 6770270 8 acord 0x000000010b883f1d acord + 1777437 9 acord 0x000000010b95d7be acord + 2668478 10 acord 0x000000010b8966cb acord + 1853131 11 acord 0x000000010b896ef4 acord + 1855220 12 acord 0x000000010b8a360f acord + 1906191 13 acord 0x000000010bd67512 acord + 6903058 14 AppKit 0x00007fff5061d56f forwardMethod + 211 15 acord 0x000000010bd6756c acord + 6903148 16 AppKit 0x00007fff506c20ad -[NSTrackingArea mouseMoved:] + 150 Binaries: 0x000000000b6d2000 /Applications/Accordance.app/Contents/MacOS/acord 0x000000010c410000 /Applications/Accordance.app/Contents/Frameworks/ZipArchive.framework/Versions/A/ZipArchive 0x000000010c45a000 /Applications/Accordance.app/Contents/Frameworks/Sparkle.framework/Versions/A/Sparkle 0x000000010c4dd000 /Applications/Accordance.app/Contents/Frameworks/ObjectiveDropboxOfficial.framework/Versions/A/ObjectiveDropboxOfficial Thanks for any help, Chris

Bundlehunt just announced their Summer Mac Bundle. Now, I can get that $39 Home Inventory app for $4 after unlocking the bundle. :-) https://bundlehunt.com
  8. Grace and Peace OakTree Software, How are you? I just upgraded to the full version of Accordance 12 from a fresh installation of the Lite version, and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the issue I'm addressing, yet I thought I should mention it. So then, I customized the Toolbar, yet it continues to return to the default arrangement when I close one workspace and open another, or when I Quit Accordance and relaunch it. That's about it. Please help, or if this is really a bug others are experiencing, please put this on the list of bugs to swat. Thank you!
  9. Greetings Accordance Family Happy Lord's day. I just updated last night and my verse notes have completely malfunctioned. They have switched to size 40 from 12 and changed to all caps and it has cut off the first word of every verse note. I have a macbook pro 2014 running os 10.11.4. My accordance was updated to 12.2.8. I have named my verse notes "M. verse notes". I have over a 1000 notes so I'm hoping it won't be too much work fixing this. Thanks you for your help. Blessings Marco
  10. I have Accordance 12.0.4 on my Mac. I have Accordance 2.4.5 (Build 2.4.4.8493) on an iPhone 6. The app on the iPhone was recently transferred from an iPhone 5, and I could not get Accord iOS to work on the iPhone 6. I finally just deleted the entire app and reinstalled it. Now Acc iOS works, but, of course, I lost my user modules (user Bibles). I have used the iOS app very little, sticking mostly with the desktop version for Mac. Therefore, I'm really in the dark about how to do this (and I only recall that the last time I copied a user Bible from Mac to iPhone I did use WiFi). However, we're now traveling and I'd like to use the iOS app on my phone. Is there a way to copy certain user Bibles from my Mac to the iPhone without WiFi? My only internet for my Mac where we are staying for approximately the next month is a mobile hotspot from the iPhone. Do I just need to go find free WiFi somewhere and do it on someone's WiFi? Seems to me I should be able to just plug in the iPhone to the Mac and copy over my modules. Is that not possible? I've tried looking in Help on the Mac, but didn't come up with anything to help. I do have Dropbox syncing turned on on both iOS and Mac OS, but I think from what I read that only is for user highlights, user notes and such. Thanks!

    Mouse Scroll through Tabs

I love the Accordance tabs so much that I always have more tabs open than my window is wide. Obviously you can cycle through the windows (cmd+shift+[ or ]) but it would be really nice to be able to scroll through the tabs with the mouse or keypad (swipe right/left while hovering over the tabs) just like the browsers allow you to do (Safari or Firefox). Just a more convenient way to access tabs at times.
  12. Accordance is great at allowing customization and allowing users to extensively use the keyboard. Unfortunately, putting the two together is not yet possible. There are a few shortcuts that I keep on mixing up - cmd+L jumps to search input in browsers and cmd+T opens a new tab in many apps. I personally would prefer continuity from other apps even if that means that I can't access the currently assigned functions - "enter lexical form" and "Set Tool Display", respectively. I hardly-if ever-use those functions anyway. Allowing some customization to the keyboard shortcuts allows greater flexibility from one user to the next. On a side note, is there a nice summary sheet of the most common keyboard shortcuts? And while at it - is there a nice overview of the search syntax?
  13. Some commentaries have multiple sections that cover a particular verse (see for example Word Biblical with a notes, form/structure/setting, comment, and explanation section). I have often wanted to check which section I am in or what volume of a multi-volume resource. This is possible if the commentary module is in its own window but not if it is in parallel view. Many times I have reached to pull down the table of contents in parallel view and realized that is not possible - though it is available on the iOS version. Whether it is in the form of a "path bar" (like the Finder) or a drop down table of contents, it would be helpful to have the option to know where I am in a resource even as a parallel resource.

    Mouse Input for Atlas module

I really appreciate the updates to the Atlas module that make navigation easier with a touchpad, but I primarily use my MacBook Pro in clamshell mode with a magic mouse. Since Apple users already have an API for the Apple Maps module, could the same commands (shift, alt + swipe) be added to the Atlas module to control zoom, tilt, and rotate?
  15. Just wanted to voice my appreciation for the under the hood upgrade to Accordance that now allows for split screen. It has really made my day—I am loving being able to use split screen natively with accordance it far more than I expected.
  16. Hi there, I'm using Accordance 11.1.6 which was recently updated from an earlier 11.1.x version (on Mac OS X 10.11.4). Accordance is now regularly locking up (spinning beach ball), when doing various simple tasks. Today, for example, I switched to another application to make some notes and Accordance locked up in the background. Other times, if I CMD-5, open another context tool and scroll it'll lock up etc. Is there a known issue for this version? Is there a workaround? I'd downgrade if I could. I've attached the stack report. AccordanceLockingUp.txt.zip
  17. Working in Accordance on the Mac, and using Copy as citation quite heavy while preparing a sermon. When I paste the text in MS Word 2016, it seems to switch to English U.S. language. Is this something specific to the word processor, or something I can set in Accordance? (It's kind of annoying, as the auto completion/correct stuff changes to a language I'm not typing in.)

    Computer for Accordance

I need to have my notebook pc replaced soon and I am looking for personal advice, tips, and or stories about what type of mobile computer would be best to run Accordance and some photo/video editing. I tend to favour Notebooks with backlight keyboards, quad cores, and SSD/FlashDrives. Also, I am a long time PC user thinking of switching to Mac...What are my current opinions in the Mac world?
  19. The MAS version of Accordance works fine with El Capitan public beta 2. I've removed all instances of it, to install the normal version. I've tried installing the latest one and one version earlier with Accordance chat help, both just instantly produce a dialogue box: The app "Accordance.app" cannot be opened. Holding option upon launch doesn't change anything. Has anyone figured out a way to run the normal Accordance app with EC PB 2? thanks
  20. I just recently purchased Accordance 11 (5/9/15) and since downloading it, have not been able to open the program successfully at all. I am using Mavericks 10.10.3. I downloaded from both Chrome and Safari and had the same problem. When I double click on the Accordance icon to open the program, the lamp bounces on my dock for less than a second then crashes right away. I don't know if this makes a difference, but in the "My Products" page on my account, I have access to download "Accordance Software Version 11" but not "Starter Collection (Accordance 11)." I read a forum that said turning off my wifi might help, but that didn't solve my problem. Am I missing something in order to successfully launch Accordance?
  21. I have been trying to get the parsing functionality to work for me. It pops up, but does not show the actual parsing (Aorist, Future, etc.) I have also attempted to change the settings, but it does not have a place where I can add this. Any ideas?

    Accordance 11/Mac App Store

If I downloaded Accordance 10 through the Mac App Store, will I be able to update to Accordance 11 through the Accordance website, or do I have to wait till it comes out on the Mac App Store?
  23. Hi All, So, how do the upgrades work? I purchased on March 7 the New International Commentary on the New Testament (21 volumes) set. When I downloaded it, I got two "tools" listed in my library: NICNT (18 vols.) and NICNT (3 updated vols.). I was continuing my addictive habit of browsing the Accordance store and noticed that there was an upgrade (http://www.accordancebible.com/store/details/?pid=NICNT21upNICNT). When I clicked on it I see the following written on the top: So, I realize that 18 + 3 is 21. My questions are, though: 1) Do I have it correctly in my library, or should it be a unified library item (such as NICNT 21 vols)? 2) Do I need the upgrade that I have linked above, or do I already have it? As a follow up, is it possible to list the release date of items in the store, or how is it best to know if an upgrade applies to your current library items? Thanks for your patience. John K

synching between iOS and new Macintosh

I replaced my laptop, and wished to synch updated modules on my iPad2 and iPhone. Since they had been synchronized with the old computer, the only way to synch was to erase and reload texts and tools (a large number). It took a long time, but when finished, it was very spotty. Some were on the iPhone and some were not. I have been doing it piecemeal on the iPad to systematically get it "right," but it is lengthy. Anyway to retain this data (in future iOS versions) across devices so one does not have to "start from scratch?" Thanks for a great product. This was a pothole on an otherwise picturesque road.

Working with Hebrew in Pages 5.2

According to Apple, the new version of Apple Pages should be able to support Right-To-Left languages (i.e. Hebrew), but I'm having some trouble with this. Whether I copy Unicode Hebrew from Accordance or if I type it in using the HebrewTH keyboard, I don't see the 'Change Direction' button showing up in the menu, nor do I get the extra entries in the Format->Text menu that I've seen referred to on the net. Does anyone here know the tricks to get Hebrew working with Pages 5?
