  1. If any of my brothers and sisters in Christ can help me with these statistics, I’d greatly appreciate it. My two questions are What is the approximate number of individual lexemes in Codex Ambrosianus/Old Testament Peshitta? (including the deuterocanonical books) What is the approximate number of individual lexemes in Codex Ambrosianus/Old Testament Peshitta, if only the books that are in both the Codex Ambrosianus and the KJV Bible are looked at? This well be more of an “apples to apples” comparison if only the books in the KJV Hebrew bible canon are looked at. Can you please quote your source on if you used Accordance to find these statistics yourself or if you found them via another source? I have often read/heard that Hebrew and Aramaic are very similar. I’m trying to find out just how similar these are in regards to the OT. The number I normally see for the number of individual lexemes in the Hebrew Old Testament is 8,679. I’m trying to statistically compare this with the Aramaic Old Testament. Thank you for your help, Brian P.S. I am not a scholar. I have close to a basic understanding of Aramaic. I am just starting Hebrew. So please no answers that are to technical. Although, I can look definitions up if I need to. An approximate number is fine.
  2. I have Yosemite as my Mac operating system. I have just installed Accordance 11. I went to Easy Install and it says "Your user does not have permission to download or update modules. The permissions for the Accordance folder may be changed by opening "Get Info" in the Finder." So I went to the finder and I have allowed absolutely everyone to read and write. However, I still get the same message. I am feeling most incompetent.
  3. I have my default browser set to Firefox. When I open Accordance and click on Help > Accordance Help, it pastes this URL into Firefox and opens it: file:///Applications/Accordance.app/Contents/Resources/Accordance%20Help/Default.htm However, everything is "frozen" in that tab. Neither "Contents," "Index," nor "Glossary" will allow me to click on them and have anything happen. If I put the same URL into Safari (7.1), everything works as expected. Ideas, anyone? Thank you.

    BUG: Pictures Zone

A few issues: 1. When I press F1 (Help key for Accordance for Windows), Accordance launches the folder where the Helps files are located (e.g. H:\Program Files (x86)\Oaktree\Accordance\Resources\Accordance Help) instead of the Help system for Pictures Zone. 2. The text size that usually accompanies each figure is very small. How do you adjust the font size? See screenshot. 3. Looking at the Help content about the Pictures Zone (see screenshot), I have tried the implementation as described: - To zoom in on an area of an image, select and double-click an area of the image: this works. - Shift+ Ctrl+ Click also zooms in on an image: this works; using the mouse, press the scroll wheel each time to scroll horizontally (continuous signal to the scroll wheel does nothing); turn the wheel to scroll vertically in the picture. - To navigate sequentially through pictures in a module, click the Previous (arrow) or Next (arrow) buttons: this works, but note: left / right keyboard arrow keys will allow you to navigate backwards or forwards; up / down arrow keys wil navigate backwards only. You can scroll through the image in a variety of ways. - Drag the horizontal or vertical scrollers: this works. - Shortcut Keys move the image left, right, up, or down in the Pictures zone: Ctrl+←, Ctrl+→, Ctrl+↑, Ctrl+↓: this works when picture is zoomed in from default. - Ctrl+Click and hold on the image. The cursor changes to a grab hand. Drag the image up, down, left, or right, as desired: this does not work for me. It seems I can move the picture in one direction. - Scroll through the image using scroll wheel (if available): this does not work with my mouse. thanks, David

    Accordance over Coffee?

I got a copy of Accordance fairly recently, and its basic features are intuitive enough I'm making great use of it. But I wonder if there is an Accordance Power User located in the Indianapolis area (where I live) who might be willing to sit down with me over a cup of coffee to introduce me to the fuller features and possibilities of Accordance. I am running Accordance on a Macintosh, and I am a pastor living on the west side of Indianapolis. I could bring along my MacBook Air to meet at a Starbucks or Panera somewhere in town, if someone is able to do this. Thanks. Michael (Feel free to message me with replies through the Accordance messaging system, rather than posting a reply on the public board.)
  6. FYI, I am currently uploading a minor fix to the iOS Help. If you are coming to the forum because the Help is not available, please wait a few minutes and try again. Maintenance will be completed shortly. Thanks for your patience, Deborah
  7. Thanks for the education. I am currently an English only user. I am struggling with a problem that is most likely answered easily by a Hebrew student. In Isaiah 7:14, 8:8 there is a name "Immanuel". In Isaiah 8:10 I see what appears to me to be the exact same two words (with, suffix us, and god). They are different when the instant details scroll over them the first two are "Immanuel" the last is "with us God". I am using the BHS-W4 tagged text The question comes when I search by selecting the words in Isaiah 8:10 and then copying and pasting into the search bar. The results are Isaiah 7:14, 8:8. Not what I expected, I do not even get the verse that I copied from. When I separate the phrase into its parts I get Isaiah 8:10 as well as many many more results, but not Isaiah 7:14, 8:8. This is again not what I expected. I am sure that someone who knows Hebrews can explain this to me. Thank you for the education. To be more specific; 1. How do we know when form a name and when they don't? (Context is my guess) 2. Why am I not getting expected results? Thanks
