    Missing Hebrew Bible tagged BHS

I am using Accordance 3.2.1 on my new iPad Air. I also used Accordance on my iPhone, MacBook Air and a PC. But in my iPad Air 2020 I cannot get BHS-W4 to install. I tried so many troubleshooting tips. But I have had no success. Accordance was recently installed in November since I purchased a new iPad Air.
  2. Dear all, I tried to calculate the absolute number of words in Old Testament books (BHS corpus with Westminster Hebrew Morphology) with the formula: * <AND> [RANGE Book Name] Are the words in the electronic BHS on Accordance Bible Software defined as character strings that are delimited by space characters or is each lexem counted as a new word? Would enclitic personal pronouns ( e.g. אָבִ֔י), prepositions (e.g. בְּרֵאשִׁ֖ית) and certain conjugations (e.g. וַיֹּ֥אמֶר) in the BHS-corpus be counted as separate words or is the whole construction (e.g. preposition + noun) conuted a
  3. In my Logos Bible Software I can see the syllabification of each word in the Biblia Hebraica through the interlinear (Lexham Hebrew Interlinear), through the transliteration line. Each syllable is separated by a dot. I have a personal dislike for transliterations but this tool is very useful. I have begun testing myself verse-by-verse and do so against the LHI. Does Accordance have a way that I can check for the syllabification of the Hebrew text? Many thanks!
  4. Hi, quick question. I've noticed that I am able to see BHS either in separate verses or interleaved - it will cover the entire pane with the text and continue on with the next. However for poetic passages it does not make the line distinction the same way the printed version does, which is a big deal. For example, attached is Malachi 1:1-3 in printed BHS. Accordance usually just fills the pane, but the lines in the printed version are way different as you can see. Is there a way to do it? I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong or something... Thank you in advance
  5. Is the 'BHS Apparatus' the same as NA28, that is, we don't have the instructions on how to read the notes unless we purchase a special module, or is there a way to lookup what the symbols mean? I know that there is 'mouseover' to lookup things, but when I try this it just shows me more words and symbols I don't understand. I guess you could say that the mouseover help needs mouseover help
  6. The 'BHS Apparatus' lists things with a,b,c,etc.... but how do you know where the a connects to in the Hebrew text? Is there a trick I don't know about?
  7. Hello, I'm attempting some searches in BHS for a class I'm teaching. Basically, I'd like to create something like a Reader's Lexicon for Amos...but a Reader's Lexicon that adapts to what I've already learned. In the first window, I type [COUNT 1-100] [RANGE Amos 1]. Perfect...it gives me all the words I'm wanting. However, now I want to know all of the words that occur 1-100 times in Amos 2, but I want it to exclude all the words that showed up from Amos 1. Basically, I'm trying to eliminate repeat vocabulary words so that each new search only returns words not yet encountered in Amos
  8. Hi all, I updated to Accordance 12, but anytime I try to use my BHS resource I see this message: The text "GNT-TD" is not currently available to Accordance. I've installed all available free resources. I'm not sure what the issue is and could not find a previous thread. Anyone know what to do?

    BHS-T Qere?

I purchased the BHS-T upgrade to the HMT-W4, but it seems to be missing the Qere. Is there a setting to display it? If not, then how can this be fixed? I saw this older topic, which seems to have been helpful, but the helpful response has been unhelpfully deleted! http://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/12958-qereketib-in-bhs-t-and-hmt-w4/
  10. So I'm having some trouble searching and making productive use of the the Bracketed Words search option. The three options currently are: (1) Included, (2) Ignored, and (3) Exclusive. The thing is, unless I'm missing something, this doesn't allow for the user to search the text for a phrase according to the Qere. For example, a well known correction my the Masoretes is in 2 Kgs 18:27 || Isa 36:12, where commander says (according to the Ketiv) "Was it only to your master and you that my master sent me to say these things, and not to the people sitting on the wall—who, like you, will have to eat
  11. Hello, I came across something curious while doing some text criticism in Deut. 5:21. The BHS text prepends a Dalet to תִתְאַוֶּה whereas the WMT does not. I called a fellow seminary student and he did not have the differences in his BHS accordance module. After a little more digging, we discovered he has BHS 1.4 and I have BHS 1.5. It appears in the new module that the text critical markers in the actual BHS text are messed up. The error occurs with leading letters when a set of letters highlights a range in the text. The leading letter renders as a hebrew letter instead of an eng
  12. Hello Helen Was there some tagging progress since the Webinar on Vimeo, except the Lexem Lemma dilemma? On BHS? Will the BHQ be tagged when it is finished? Greetings Fabian
  13. I’m a little confused by the variety of Hebrew Bible texts. I apparently have BHS-T and BHS-W4 installed. I seem to also have a syntax add-on for HMT-W4, but I don’t seem to have HMT-T or HMT-W4 installed. I see something in the store about an upgrade from BHS-W4 to HMT-W4. Can someone give me a quick rundown of the differences between these texts? Does it mainly have to do with cantillation marks and critical apparatus or is there more?
  14. When I search for a Hebrew word in bhs-w4, the search results come up in Hebrew Bible order (e.g., Judges then Samuel), not English Bible order (e.g., Judges then Ruth). Is there a way to switch the Accordance bhs search results to English Bible order? I've tried adding some English Bibles to the display, but they just follow the Hebrew order, since the search results are from bhs. [Yes, I know that having Hebrew book order for a Hebrew search is normally a good thing. But my current project requires me to compare my accordance results with something that is in English book order, so h
  15. Hi, I'm a relatively new accordance user, and very new to the syntax module - having only bought it two days ago. Which is to say that I could be completely wrong about this; but I just can't see how Gen 39:5 can possibly be correctly diagrammed in the syntax module. Should not the wayyiqtol ויברך be attached to the clause after it, not preceding it? As it stands, there are no verbs in the non-dependent mainline clause. (See image attached.) If I am incorrect, and Gen 39:5 is properly diagrammed (which is entirely possible), then can someone please explain to me how this verse is work
