Accordance won't sync with mobile device!

Hey, I got the newest accordance 13 on windows 11. But I can't "Sync with Mobile Device" under "Utilities". It's just not an option? Here's a screenshot of how it looks. Yes, I have tried to re-install Accordance 13; and, yes, I have tried to close Accordance and open it again; and, yes, I am online with the internet. ALSO–but this is not a big issue for me, I can come around this one with ease–whenever I try to "Sync with Dropbox," and I try to log-in with my Google Account on Dropbox via Accordance website-pop-up, it says that the browser isn't safe?
  2. Whenever you are using a custom theme or font, when Mac OS goes to Dark Mode, Accordance leaves the custom theme with light background. The other default themes like (Athens, etc) swap over no problem. The opposite is true too. If you change your custom theme to have a black background, when you switch back to light mode it retains the dark background. Maybe we need an option for a light custom theme and a dark custom theme that Accordance will automatically utilize if you have customs enabled.
  3. I am writing this post at the request of the technical support department. I had been using Accordance 12 and it had been working great. I use it for classes, which means that I often need to read a text and then look away and then go back to the text. As a result, I love using highlighting as a way to mark pronouns and not lose track of who is who. I would put one highlight symbol under one person and another symbol under another. I would thus select a word and highlight, then I would press my repeating highlight shortcut (command 8, but I think it is originally command E) and it would highlight it again with the same symbol. Super simple, super fast. Using the fictitious verse as an example, “he (grape) said to him (star), 'I (grape) will go to you (star),' and he (grape) went to him (star).” However, in accordance 13 when I select the symbols I have a highlight looking symbol and I need to DRAG the SYMBOL along the word as if I were highlighting. The symbol thus drops randomly and I need to pick it up and center it. Then I am selected a new word but the act of selecting it drops another symbol. It appears to be that in Accordance 12 you select the word and then highlight with the symbol, where as in Accordance 13 you need to first select the symbol and then highlight, since you can't select a word without highlighting again. That in itself would be fine (I would not say I like the change, but it something someone could get used to), but it is very time consuming that when you “highlight” with a symbol, that the symbol just drops randomly and is not centered over the word like in Accordance 12. This causes the extra step of centering the word. More importantly though, when I press command 8 it no longer repeats the same highlight, but repeats the last highlight which is not a symbol. So if I drop a grape icon (and do the extra step of centering it) and then press command 8 to insert it again on the next word, instead of another grape icon it underlines the word pink. I see a lot of advantages to Accordance 13, but the new way of highlighting was so disruptive to my work that I wound up downgrading to Accordance 12. Technical support had been screen sharing with me and had seen the issues I was having with the highlights randomly dropping (causing the extra centering step) as well as the way that command 8 no longer repeated the last highlight. They then said they thought it would be good if the two ways of highlighting (the old way in Accordance 12 and the new way in Accordance 13) could be a toggle or something so that people would have the option to keep using the symbols and highlighting as it had been done in Accordance 12. (I had realized that there were new highlights added in 13, but had not realized the whole thing had been totally changed before I was working with it.) I am dependent on highlighting enough that I will just stay with Accordance 12, but I hope this is helpful for the Accordance team and I appreciate all of the work which has clearly been put into designing Accordance 13. Respectfully, Kristin
  4. Recently I thought I was doing the right thing and upgraded: Accordance 12 to Accordance 13 Mac OS to Catalina Latest version of MS Word for Mac Some glitches overall but the oddest one is that my SBL Greek font is now a joke in Word. Looks nothing like how it displayed in the past, nothing like the web version. Overall this wouldn't be a problem except that I have many Word docs that use SBL Greek. To change those to another font (where there are many footnotes in the text, etc.) would be a real pain. By the way, the Accordance Greek Unicode font displays well. And, the SBL Greek font displays well in other programs (Pages, etc.). Just Word that doesn't seem to like it anymore. Any ideas? Daniel
  5. I have been investing a lot in accordance bible resources recently and have been recommending Accordance to my friends. One of my main sales pitches to go with accordance compared to other competitors has been that the Tyndale series are included in some of the introductory collections, and with $199 for English learner or $399 for English discoverer or triple learner, that was almost alone worth a large portion of the price. Yet alone getting an excellent software focusing on the bible text to go alongside with such a great commentary series. Recently a friend of mine bought an English discoverer collection based on these recommendations, and he has several times come back to me to tell how helpful especially the Tyndale series have been for him in both personal bible study and preparing teachings for bible study days in his church. I am very much enjoying using Accordance 13 so far and consider the upgrade well money spent. Noticing today that the Tyndale series seems to have been switched with the Wiersbe BE Series as the introductory commentary in basically all collections apart from English master at $36,999 somehow dampened the enjoyment in terms of how excited I am to recommend Accordance to new users that are looking for a first-time introductory library. Most of my friends are non-bible professionals who love the Word and are involved in their local church as well as working in business or other areas of society. I am aware that there are probably many good reasons for this, and that the excellent staff at Oaktree has been discussing both upgrade possibilities of the series and the removal of Tyndale as a part of collections in a thorough way. The Tyndale series have not been updated in a long time, and I would dare to guess that this has to a large extent been a result of being a part of a collection that are hard to upgrade when it comes to licencing deals with the publisher. Possibly also that the publisher upped the price so that the current price levels of collections would have not been able to stay in the same range. I can only speculate in the underlying causes, but I do notice that this change has been a quiet one. No matter what the reasons are, I must say that the accordance collections are now harder to pitch to my friends as a $199/$399 all-that-you-need-for the-basics tool for their bible study. It is still an excellent software, and the search functionality and other core functions really outshines any competition as far as I am concerned. Yet the Wiersbe Be Series is in a different league of the Tyndale series in terms of commentary quality, and the base collections are hence less attractive in Accordance 13 than they were in Accordance 12. My friend mentioned above were looking at saving up some extra and go with a competitor package, but I convinced him to stay with accordance and consider how much powerful resources and functionality there are at such a cheap price. I would probably be a customer anyhow, but this exact sale would likely not have happened with the current collection offering in accordance 13. Even though I still would have recommended Accordance as the #1 bible study software in so many other ways. To end on a more positive note. These changes probably means that we are going to see updated Tyndale commentaries in the not too distant future. Although many of the classic volumes still hold up to their worth, many of the updated volumes seems promising. Seeing that the earlier thread requesting updates are one of the most viewed threads on the forum, this is going to be a most welcomed upgrade for many of us. Pax et bonum Helge (I wrote the comment above two days ago and have been pondering whether to publish it in the forums or not. Please understand my intentions that I do not want to criticise or come with negative remarks just to tell them, but rather comment and possibly have a discussion on some strategic choices in the selection of tools for the new collections in accordance 13. These thoughts are emerging mostly from my finance and business management background and are coming from a motive to bless Oaktree and Accordance. They are solely my own observations and considerations in regard to the accordance 13 collections, and I am aware that I could be wrong in this matter and base my conclusions on the wrong basis. I really am very fond of the Accordance software and are very happy with the changes in the Accordance 13 core functionalities.)
