    autolink for Ugaritic

I don't know how big of a request this is, but it would be really helpful if the Ugaritic links, such as UDB1_3 3:38 or whatever could be "auto-hyperlinked" like some of the other non-biblical texts are. I appreciate consideration of this. On a separate and fairly unrelated note, Philo's Proverbs, such as Prov 1 is linking with the biblical Prov 1. I appreciate that the rest of the other non-biblical stuff is auto-linking fine though as that is very helpful. Thank you, Kristin
  2. I have been a little slow to figure it out, but I have finally gotten used to setting the correct text for hyperlinks in Set Note Display. I normally have my default hyperlink text as the ESV, and then my alternative as the Greek. Since I can only have two text options, when I started making notes for Ugaritic I created an entirely new note, so that I could set the default hyperlink to the ESV, and the Alternative to the Ugaritic English. And this has worked fine. I decided to create a User Tool to organize some of my Ugaritic work, so I went into the User Tool display settings to set the alternative hyperlink text as the Ugaritic English, but my Ugaritic Tagged Text is missing, and so is the Ugaritic English. I am still working with the texts, and I can even set existing notes to the Ugaritic text, but the User Tool is not listing the texts as an option. I set my Ugaritic English as a favorite to see if it would pick it up better, but it is still is not. Is it clear to anyone what I am doing wrong? Thank you for any help you are able to provide. Sincerely, Kristin
  3. I have been working with the Ugaritic Tagged Text and have a question concerning user notes and cross referencing. If I create a user note in the Ugaritic Tagged Text, I am able to do so without a problem. For example, my user note might say, “Beginning of Keret Epic,” and when the note is created, it self-creates the reference of UDB1_14 I:1 above it, just like biblical references created with user notes. However, if I go to another part of the text and create a user note which says, “compare with Keret Epic UDB1_14 I:1” and I create the words “UDB1_14 I:1” as a hyperlink scripture/text reference, it does not work. I then created a bogus reference as a text, inserting John 1:1 as a cross reference in the Ugaritic Text, and the hyperlink works and takes me to John 1:1. However, if I go to John 1:1 and create a hyperlink for the Ugaritic text, it does not create a working hyperlink. I am not sure if this is a user error or if it is not a function in the text. If this is a user error, could someone help me figure out what I am doing wrong? If this is not a function, could it be added? The Ugaritic Text in transliterated text is not particularly easy to get around by just glancing at it, and being able to make references would be very helpful. On a side note, I have noticed that a few people on the forums have asked for the actual cuneiform text, and this is apparently not something that will become available. I therefore just wanted to provide my 2 cents as another person who would be highly interested in the cuneiform text. As someone who can read Hebrew without a problem, but cannot easily read transliterated Hebrew, I am running into similar difficulties with Ugaritic. (Though I am very grateful to have the tagged transliterated text!) Thank you for considering this, and for any clarity which can be provided concerning the above cross referencing issue.

    Ugaritic questions

Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas to Everyone! I have a couple pf questions regarding the new Ugaritic module: 1) The description page describes the module as consisting of "full morphological tagging." How is this being done? What morphological database or theory of Ugaritic grammar (there are multiple: Pardee does not agree with Sivan, who does not everywhere agree with Huehnergard, etc.) informs the morphological tagging? 2) Will there be a podcast or a tutorial on using the Ugaritic database? If there is not one planned, I would be interested in working on one once the module is released. 3) Any sense of when the initial module will be released?
  5. when I looked at the current specials on the Accordance website (which has become a ritual for me on Tuesdays). So many new modules that I have longed for: Dictionary of Qumran Aramaic, Ethiopic Texts, Ugaritic Texts, The Text-Critical Use of the LXX . . . All that I can say is: Toda rabbah!
