  1. Question How do I Ignore bracketed words/phrases in a Hebrew construct search? (and vice versa: How can I search on the qere (and/or) bracketed words/phrases and ignore the ketiv?) Description: This query attempts to find every verse in the Hebrew Bible where there is an occurrence of two atnach accents. Results: Five verses namely: (1) Gen. 35:22 (2) Ex. 20:2 (3) Ex. 20:5 (4) 2 Kings. 23:10 (false hit: picks up the bracketed [qere] as well as the ketiv) (5) 1 Chr. 10:1 ( the only verse in the early BHS printings and the Westminster morphology were two consecutive/repetitive atnach appear. The Leningrad Codex has an atnach followed by a mhuppak accent mark). It is easy to read through and eliminate hits I believe to be false or irrelevant. However, I am curious if there is a way to configure the construct search engine so that it automatically ignores words/phrases in brackets? Screen Shot / picture: Any help, hints, or constructive advice (pun intended) would be greatly appreciated, Brian

    BHS-T Qere?

I purchased the BHS-T upgrade to the HMT-W4, but it seems to be missing the Qere. Is there a setting to display it? If not, then how can this be fixed? I saw this older topic, which seems to have been helpful, but the helpful response has been unhelpfully deleted! http://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/12958-qereketib-in-bhs-t-and-hmt-w4/
  3. So I'm having some trouble searching and making productive use of the the Bracketed Words search option. The three options currently are: (1) Included, (2) Ignored, and (3) Exclusive. The thing is, unless I'm missing something, this doesn't allow for the user to search the text for a phrase according to the Qere. For example, a well known correction my the Masoretes is in 2 Kgs 18:27 || Isa 36:12, where commander says (according to the Ketiv) "Was it only to your master and you that my master sent me to say these things, and not to the people sitting on the wall—who, like you, will have to eat their own dung (חראיהם) and drink their own urine (שיניהם)?" But the Qere euphemistically uses filth (צואתם) and water of the feet (מימי רגליהם). If I search for ולשתות את שיניהם I get the hit because it is in the Ketiv. But if I search for ולשתות את מימי רגליהם I don't get the hit because it is the Qere. I have tried all three options for the Bracketed Words and none of them seem to allow for searching a phrase according to the Qere. If this is a missing option, I think its an important one to address. When brackets are used in mss to indicate lacunae, that's one thing and this option works fine. But in the BHS text when it indicates variant readings, its important to have the option to search in either reading. Thanks!
