Recently I thought I was doing the right thing and upgraded: Accordance 12 to Accordance 13 Mac OS to Catalina Latest version of MS Word for Mac Some glitches overall but the oddest one is that my SBL Greek font is now a joke in Word. Looks nothing like how it displayed in the past, nothing like the web version. Overall this wouldn't be a problem except that I have many Word docs that use SBL Greek. To change those to another font (where there are many footnotes in the text, etc.) would be a real pain. By the way, the Accordance Greek Unicode font displays well. And, the SBL Greek font displays well in other programs (Pages, etc.). Just Word that doesn't seem to like it anymore. Any ideas? Daniel
Right now it appears that the "Get Verses" has pretty limited formatting options when working with an MS Word document (Word for Mac, in my case). I would love to see the ability to paste a set of verses that are "discontiguous" and blocked into paragraphs with the reference after each passage. Bibleworks had this feature in its "Pop-up Window," and it was very useful for sermons and any writing project where sets of verses are listed out. Accordance can do this if I input the texts one at a time in separate "Get Verses" instances. But otherwise I am left with some clunky options. In other words, I'd love to be able to type in "John 3:16; 1 John 4:7-12; Rev 21:1-2" in the Get Verses line and have it spit out: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. (1 John 4:7–12) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (Rev 21:1–2) Ideally, the verse numbers would be superscripts, too! Thanks, Daniel
I am having an issue when copying and pasting passages into MS Word. I've tried in Scrivener and have no issues there, so I'm guessing it may be an issue with the latest version of Word, but I don't know for sure. Whenever I copy and paste a passage, the "paste" in Word takes up several pages. It inserts blank pages between verses, and sometimes even where a footnote notation or cross-reference notation is. Sometimes when I paste into Word, I get the option to "Match destination formatting" and then I can select that and everything resolves, but I don't always get that option. And when I copy/paste into this post to try to demonstrate, it pastes just fine with no problem. Anyone else having this issue? I've attached a screen shot to demonstrate. Thanks, Don Hunter
