  1. Hi, Baker OT Wisdom & Psalms commentary, section Ps 50:2-3a — the same Bible link points to two different texts. First part Ps 80:1-2 to the default English text, second part [2–3] to the Hebrew text. Is it intended so? Or a bug? “Shining forth” is what Yhwh does when coming to act, not coming to speak (e.g., 80:1–2 [2–3]; 94:1–2). The prophet will not merely be sharing words but announcing action. https://accordance.bible/link/read/BCOT_Wisdom_&_Psalms#20805
  2. Hi, When I choose Albert Barne’s Notes (NT) as a Resource Link target and add paragraph number as a Search pointer, Accordance can’t find anything. Actually it gives me an error message. It looks like it can’t handle apostrophe in the resource title. P.S. And clicking here in this page on the "Choose File" button doesn't open me Finder sheet to select files for upload. Appartently because this page was opened from within Accordance. Have to open Safari.app and copy and paste everything to Safari. Can’t even submit bug report from the app. :-)
  3. I just wrote a little Mac Automator script that will, within any app, open an Accordance universal link directly into Accordance without using a web browser When you right-click on a universal link (https://accordance.bible/link/...) and choose to run this service, it replaces the universal URL with an Accordance specific URL and opens it directly in Accordance. I'm sure others have done this, but I could not find it in the forums so I'll post my work here. You can either create and tweak your own as I explain below, or just download the Service I created. https://www.dropbox.com/s/27xcop4g7r5a1x5/Open%20Acc%20Links%20in%20Acc.zip?dl=0 Using Automator, create a new Service and set it to accept URLs. Add two boxes for "Run AppleScript" and below them one box for "Run Shell Script." (See screenshot) ----- The First AppleScript: on run {input, parameters} (* Removes text "https://accordance.bible/link/" from the input URL *) set output to {} -- this will be the action's output set textToRemove to "https://accordance.bible/link/" -- the text to remove repeat with anItem in the input -- step through each item in the input set {tempTID, AppleScript's text item delimiters} to {AppleScript's text item delimiters, textToRemove} set {textPieces, AppleScript's text item delimiters} to {text items of anItem, tempTID} set the end of the output to textPieces as text end repeat return the output -- pass the result(s) to the next action end run The Second AppleScript: on run {input, parameters} (* Prepends "accord://" to the input items *) set output to {} set prepend_text to "accord://" -- the text to add repeat with an_item in the input set the end of output to (prepend_text & (an_item as text)) end repeat return output end run The Shell Script: (with "Pass Input" set to "as arguments") open "$1" -a /Applications/Accordance.app ----- I'm sure there is an easy way to combine the two scripts into one, but this works great. If you have suggestions to improve it, let me know below. After you save it, it will appear as an option under "Services" when you right click on a URL. (Edit: I completely understand, and appreciate, the need for Accordance to switch to the Universal links, but I use Evernote a lot and often want to skip the web-browser when clicking on Accordance links.) - Omar .

    Linking devotional, dated material

I use M'Cheyne for daily devotionals and would like to find the feature that is present with iOS: when I launch Accordance, the favorite workspace I use at startup should present the current date. Second, I use the family and secret readings, so I would like to link the two as separate tabs in my favorite workspace. (I have only been able to set either secret or family since they are not bundled-feature request.) I have tried to use the LINK command, but I don't think it handles dated material. If there are any automated solutions out there, I am glad to do some homework (e.g., AppleScript, Automator, shell script, etc). Mark
  5. Is there a page where all of the beta APKs are posted for download? I keep seeing references to APKs being posted for direct download from "our servers," but I can't seem to locate the page for this.
  6. I'm creating a user tool that requires me to create multiple instances of links to other user tools. While editing the user tool, is it possible to copy a link and paste it elsewhere in the tool and still have the link work properly? Every time I copy and paste a link, I have to redo the link operation. Thanks
  7. Hi! I copied some text from the Barnes' Notes as a citation. Pasted into my user notes. Citation section was pasted like this: Albert Barnes, Barnes ’ Notes on the New Testament, Accordance electronic ed. (Altamonte Springs: OakTree Software, 2006), paragraph 16935. accord://read/Barnes’_Notes_(NT)#16935 I think there shouldn't be a line break before the apostrophe? The last line was pasted as link. However, when I tried to click on this link later on, nothing happened. I guess it should open Barnes' Notes to that section, right? (Accordance 12.0.2, macOS Sierra)
  8. Hello I would love to have the ability to tick a checkbox with the following description: Adds Accordandance URL's to your citation. E.g. „Im Anfang schuf Gott die Himmel und die Erde.“ (1 Mose 1,1 Die Bibel. Elberfelder Übersetzung) Very cool would be if I can also tick that the citations comes in none link style. So the link are there but not visible in the Paper. For me this would be a great advantage. Now I add this to all my citations, for quick finding again. Greetings Fabian

    #87) Linking Commands

Accordance's three linking commands, [LINK], [HITS], and [CONTENTS] temporarily “link” Accordance windows (zones or tabs) together, allowing searches in the source window to affect other windows. These powerful commands allow simultaneous searches, searches within searches, and cascading searches in multiple windows. Join Dr. J ask he reviews these three commands, providing practical applications for each.
  10. I use DevonThink Pro a lot, also to scan books and articles not available in Accordance. In this program one can make links, and they even work in another program I use: Circus Ponies Notebook. It is very convenient to be able to go directly to the file in my database when I’m writing. I tried to paste the link into my User notes in Accordance, but they do not work. They look like this: x-devonthink-item://643BAFE3-317C-493A-AF3C-AA82550871AF In contrast to FileMakerPro they came out like this, as a link with blue color, the cursor changed to a magnifying glass, but that was all. Would it be possible in a future upgrade to make such links work?
  11. I followed the instructions in the Help to make a link to Links to Texts, Tools, and User Tools. I inserted the following text in My Notes: [BDAG, Greek Entry, agaph] Then, I selected all the text including brackets and the I made a Link, but is not working. I would appreciate any help regarding this issue. Thanks!

    Comparing Vocabulary

Recently a member on a fb page I frequent posed the following question, "What words appear in Mark, but not the other two Synoptic Gospels (Matthew and Luke)?" While such a question can be answered without Bible software, it would take a long, long time. Accordance answered it in seconds. There are 190 different forms in NA28, which appear a total of 227 times. I've attached the search setup, for those of you who may be interested.

    Scripture reference color

Is there a way to change the color of Scripture reference links, particularly in a resource such as BDAG? It would be helpful to have Scripture references stand out making it easier to spot the different uses when looking at an entry.
  14. I would like to be able to set a link in my user notes to one of the reference tools (Maclarens Expositions). However, when I try to make a link, it simply links back to the text that it's already attached to. Is this something that I should be able to do? If so, how? Edited to add: I am trying to use the method described in the help files (Digging Deeper > Creating Your Own Modules > User Tools > Create Links in User Tools, #3). Right clicking in the argument field copies the following as the link: [Maclaren’s Expositions, Reference, ps 37:4] as described. However, the link that is created in my user notes takes me to the verse in a text, not the tool.
