  1. Request that when the shift key is used to override the preference to open Library as a popover - that it truly overrides, and hence the ability to access information about a library items (modules) is available. I understand that we can't have popovers to popovers, and hence that is why information is not available when the library is opened as a popover. That said, when I had down the shift key to override - then don't open Library it as a popover, but as a zone (or however it open if presence for popover is not checked). To have to go back to preferences and change this library popover preference to not be a popover, access library, and then revert one's changes is laborious.
  2. Is there a way to include a commentary in more than one folder in the library? Can we make something like a shortcut or a link to a commentary in a library folder? I’d like to make folders of my favorite resources for a given topic so I can search them as a group but sometimes I need a resource in more than one folder. For example I’d like to include “Anchor Bible Job-Song” in both a Psalms folder and a Job folder. Is there a way to do that? Thanks, Charles
  3. Recently my seminary instituted a mandatory purchase of Logos for all students. They have made an exception for anyone who has Bible software that matches the bundle they selected as the minimum from Logos. God has blessed me over the years to have been able to invest in Accordance resources. I have no doubt I qualify for the waver. My question is, is there any way to export a list of what I own or is in my library? This would prevent me from having to type the list out. Thank you in advance for the help. Craig

    #183) Build a Pastoral Library

The latest podcast is Dr. J''s advice on how to build a good pastoral library, whether you are self-taught or seminary-trained (and, yes, the two libraries have some important differences). Preparing sermons doesn't have to be a chore, provided you have the right resources to mine for good information. https://www.accordancebible.com/Pastoral-Library
  5. I’m running 12.3.1 on Mojave 10.14.1, and each time I try to type into the search bar of the Library panel, Accordance completely disappears. I tried to search for “Wycliffe” there, and a dialog appeared saying that Accordance needed to control Finder. I made the mistake of denying permission, and the crashes began. I returned to System Preferences and gave Accordance permission for Finder, but Accordance still crashes the moment I type a single letter in the Library panel’s search bar. I have not yet rebooted my computer, but Accordance has been quit properly (not just crashed). Even after a proper quitting of Accordance, and reopening it, the Library search crashes on the first character typed. While a reboot may solve the issue, perhaps some warning needs to be provided for Mojave users so they don't accidentally create this issue. Christopher Smith
  6. I'm not sure if this topic as been posted before, but if so, I apologize for the duplication. Is it possible to bring the Library categories in the Accordance desktop application to the iOS app? It usually takes me a moment to remember where an app is located in the iOS, but I always now where it is on my Mac. It would make using Accordance on a mobile platform that much more efficient. Thanks David

    Save library layout

Hi, I'd like to make a feature request to be able to save or preserve our library layout. This is important for several reasons: I have had to recreate my preferences twice in the last two years because they got corrupted. Aside from having to verify or recreate the actual Accordance preferences (a relatively small challenge), the arrangement of library modules, groups, and workspaces disappeared or was changed to an organization was not anywhere near the way I had everything organized. That was a large challenge. I had to recreate folders and manually drag modules up and down to get everything arranged the way I had it before. With a large library, this took many hours each time. A simple feature of 'save library layout' as a file that could be downloaded later so that my customized layout could be reinstated would be a huge time-saver. When recreating the library layout, I also had to open all my workspaces manually in order for Accordance to recognize them, then add them to my favorites, and sort them manually. I also had a number of texts and tools that I had manually deleted, but in my new library arrangement, they all showed up in the library organization, even though the modules themselves were not there. Thus I had links to non-existent modules. This caused a problem when doing Research because it thought the modules were there. So I had to find all the links to deleted modules and delete the links. I also had to manually open my user notes and each one of my user tools in order for the app to recognize them. Somehow the dropbox syncing got messed up when I recreated the preferences from scratch. If there were a feature to be able to save the library organization (which would include groups, workspaces, user notes, user tools, papers, and stacks), this would save a mountain of headaches if the preferences ever get corrupted again. Thank you for considering this!

    Schocken Bible question

So, here is a question. I recently purchased the Schocken Bible (love the translation & the notes) and am trying to figure out where to put it in with the Library. Would ya'll say it is more of a formal equivalent, mediating, or functional equivalent?

    Syncing Library Items?

Please forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere (I did search for it and couldn't find the answer). Is there a way to sync the items in my library between different computers like I can the User Notes, User Tools, Bookmarks, etc.? I have a very large library in Accordance and all of the books are already on all four of my personal computers—I would just like a way to keep the Library Tab organized the same way on each computer. This used to be an easy task when my Accordance Library was small, but nearly impossible now.

    Folders for Stacks in Library

I would love the ability to have a better substructure within My Stuff/ Library/Stacks. My folder has very quickly become cluttered, with different themes, sermon series and personals studies. I tried creating a new folder structure in my Mac Finder but Accordance only reads the Accordance Files/Stacks root folder. Having he ability create new folders would enable me to keep things very tidy by topic or date. Thank you.
  11. It would be nice to have a little more control over Info Pane. One way I could see this happening is by adding a feature to be able to tag modules from your library that would set the priority in Info Pane. Another way would be to import user preferences via a CSV file. For each book of the Bible, a user could set favorite commentaries, dictionaries, etc... Blessings, Cliff
  12. I like to change the default order of folders of Tools in the Library and add dividers to group them the way I like them. But the Parallels folder, which comes last, cannot be moved. I thought it was a bug, but a support person at Accordance informed me that it is made to be this way. Please make the Parallels folder movable like the other ones.
  13. Hello Since 11.1 often when I had open the Library (I use it as pop-over) and I scroll through it, then the Library didn't scroll but the Text behind scrolls. In generally I think the Library was scrolling much smoother in 10 or in the beginning of 11. Greetings Fabian
  14. Whenever I save some existing workspace again (after making some changes in its layout), Accordance moves that workspace to the bottom or the custom workspace list in the Library. Can you fix this problem? It should stay where it is.
  15. When I'm saving a workspace, it moves it to the bottom of the Library list. I think it shouldn't change its position in the Library list.
  16. If I chose to open Library as popover in the Accordance preferences, then hovering mouse cursor over the dictionaries or commentaries in the Library list doesn't show Info button. If I uncheck this setting in the Preferences, Info button is shown. A bug?
  17. Hello I have bought a Commentary and set it as pre-selected Triple-Click in the preferences. And while it was one of the newer Modules it was near the bottom in the Library-list. Then I wonder why does Accordance found so less match's by the Triple-Click. Till I found out, that Accordance starts now from the pre-selected resource to the least of the bottom. This is total another habit than before! Good: If you don't want that Accordance search in resources then take them over the pre-selected. But it's against logic. Bad: If you don't know this habit you have with the Triple-Click less match's (especially if you use not english Bibles) and many resources are above. For me it would be good, if the Triple-click search starts with the pre-selected and then goes to the first in the Library-list and from there to the bottom. Or it starts from the pre-selected and goes to the bottom and starts new from the top till the pre-selected one. Till then you have the pre-selected in the top of the library-list too, like before. Greetings Fabian

    Favorite workspaces don

When I try to open a saved workspace, either from the My Workspaces folder in the library or the File > Open Workspace menu, Accordance presents me with a file picker dialog box with the caption “Where is the file ‘[Workspace]’?” This happens for the pre-defined favorites that ship with Accordance and any custom workspaces I have saved. It doesn’t seem to matter where they are, whether they are in ~/Documents/Accordance Files or ~/Documents/Accordance Files/User Workspaces. I assume this is a bug. If it’s by design, there is no point in having favorite workspaces in the Library, because you get exactly the same behavior (minus the “Where is” message) from File > Open …. 19. I just upgraded my Accordance software from 10 to 11 at SBL this past weekend, because I was told that I could prioritize my lexicons so that the first lexicon on the list shows up when I triple click on a word. I currently have it set to Liddel & Scott Intermediate lexicon, but when I triple click (or hover and press Command), it is still opening Mounce. What am I doing wrong? I've attached a screenshot. Thanks!
  20. Hi, I have just installed Accordance 11. But the Library organisation is still the old one. How do I need to do to get the new library organisation? Thanks
  21. Right now, we can filter and sort on recently opened, texts, tools, background and "my stuff". It would be great if we could also use color as another way to view and organise our library. That is, if we could select a module in the Library, like, say "NASB" and change it's color to something like light brown (for wooden) and/or select "The Message" and change it to something like flourescent green (for wild). The same idea could work for the various types of commentaries and other tools that we have. Each person might make their own decisions about their style of colorising, but it would offer another useful, organisational dimension. Just a thought!
  22. I use Accordance on both my laptop and a desktop pretty heavily in preparing class lessons and sermons, and on my iPad when preaching and teaching class. I am thankful to have such a resource available. Recent versions have added some new features (and improved older ones) that have proven very helpful to me. One in particular has been the ability to sync user modules between devices through Dropbox. What option I would really like to see added is the ability to sync the organization and structure of the library across computers (and devices if possible) as well. I have quite a few modules in my library, including a good number of user tools, that would make such functionality very helpful in keeping my user experience the same between computers/devices. As I use my software, I do find myself re-organizing from time to time as my focus of study changes, and a recent baseline system reinstall has me paying in man hours to get my library set back up the way I want it. The ability to sync the ordering and organization of the library would help make an already very good user experience that much more of a polished experience. CAVEATS (two that I can see right off): I understand that many people may not keep all of their modules on their different computers, and certainly not on their iOS devices, but I believe the ordering and organization could still be maintained based both on the location within the library where it is included, and the identification of a "master" library. I also understand that this may need to be considered an optional thing to sync since some individuals may use their desktop and laptop installations quite differently (ie. remote scholarly research vs. home devotional study), and therefore arrange their libraries differently to better suit those needs. Thank you for considering, and for an excellent product.
  23. I first reported this issue here. I have a workspace in which the Instant Details panel is on the right side, in vertical mode. I also have the Library opened on the left side of my workspace. See the attached images in this post. The problem I am having is that I can't extend the width of the Library when the Instant Details pane is in vertical orientation. I change the Instant Details pane back to horizontal and can extend the Library width. But when the Instant Details pane is back to vertical mode, I can extend the Library only a tiny bit more. This issue occurs when the workspace is either maxed full-screen or minimized screen size. Also, from time to time I notice that the "+ Less..." for the Library Texts would disappear. I would have to either remove the Library and bring it back again, or close Accordance and re-launch it. 24. Hello everyone, I am new to Accordance. Little by little I am learning new things about workspaces, zones, and panels, etc. I started to watch the Podcasts as well - very informative and well paced. I have lots to learn in Accordance. I have a workspace in which the Instant Details panel is on the right side, in vertical mode. I also have the Library opened on the left side of my workspace. See the two attached images below. I also included screens of my settings for Worspace and Appearance. Is this normal system behavior, or, is it a bug, or, do I need to use the Library as a pop-over? Also, from time to time I notice that the "+ Less..." for the Library Texts would disappear. I would have to either remove the Library and bring it back again, or close Accordance and re-launch it. I am enjoying the time I spend learning how to setup, customize, and use Accordance. I am a layperson who has a strong interest in software applications for biblical research and studies. Thanks, David System: Windows 7 64 OS; AMD Phenom II X2 (unlocked X4) 555 Black Edition Callisto 3.2GHz; 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600, Radeon HD 5670 1GB 128-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16
  25. I have two suggestions for improving the user interface. (I am using Accordance for iOS 1.6.6.) First, when search results are displayed, the "Index" icon that normally lives at the far left of the top menu bar is shifted over one spot and the eyeglass icon is in the far left spot. Because I am used to the far left location for that icon, I find myself hitting the eyeglasses when I want the index out of reflex. It would be nice to keep the index icon in the same place always and put the eyeglasses icon elsewhere. Second, I find myself accidentally hitting the library icon at the bottom of the page. It then takes me two clicks (Library, then close) to cancel that operation. It would be nice to have a close or cancel option from the recently used module list.
