  1. I am not sure if I should be posting this in general or languages, but it is a question concerning Analytics. I had opened the Greek to look at the words in Luke. I opened the Analytics fine, but I was hoping to see the key numbers also. So I clicked "Show Key Numbers" but instead of showing the key number it would tell me the gender of the words. Is there a way to include the key numbers in the analytics with the Greek text? Thanks, Kristin
  2. Hello Everyone, Sometimes I have a need to exclude the (No Key number) found in my resulting text window. Does anyone know what the syntax should look like to eliminate this from occurring? The benefit for me is it would cut down the number of hits found in both the text module, and Analysis pane. Example: If you select the ESV module and type in the search field: rise up @ [KEY H*] and hit enter the results in the Analysis window will show Rise = 4 H6965 qum קוּם = 1 (No Key number) = 3 rise = 23 (No Key number) = 23 Thank you for your time and expertise. D.
  3. I am having some confusion concerning finding the correct count of a enosh and would appreciate any help anyone is able to provide. While I know I am able to get more hits of a word looking at the Hebrew word (since not all words are tagged), I am getting a DRASTICALLY higher number with the key number than with typing the word, even though the key number is that of enosh (which is not the same number as ish...). Further, when I look at verses among the larger hit count I often can't find the word in the text, so I am just confused. Attached a picture expressing my confusion. Thank you for any help anyone is able to provide. Sincerely, Kristin
  4. I would love to be able to make personal user notes on individual Hebrew/Greek words. I know I can make notes on the words in individual lexicons, but it would be awesome if we could make notes on the Key Number itself so that those notes would be available across all lexicons.

    #102) Key Numbers

The latest podcast is another celebration of Accordance's twentieth anniversary! [basic: Accordance 10] Key numbers are a numerical system designed to help people with little or no knowledge of Hebrew or Greek. They identify the most important words in the Bible, enabling those who do not read the ancient, original languages to do basic word searches and studies. Once upon a time, key numbers only appeared in the most expensive of printed concordances. Even then, using them was laborious and time-consuming. Now they are included with every copy of Accordance Bible Software. Not only do they make our Word Searches fast and accurate, but they enable Instant Details, Cross-highlighting, the Dynamic Interlinear, and Instant Lookups. Join Dr. J in this episode as he shows us how to leverage the power of Key Numbers in Accordance. http://youtu.be/Ao2fcEAOVKQ
  6. I have noticed that if I use the ESVS many words are not tagged and won'r show up in the Instant Display or be useable for Lookup. For example, I am studying the book of Luke using the ESVS. I got to Luke 3:17 "His winnowing fork is in his hand, to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.” I wanted to find more about winnowing fork". I click on the word "winnowing" and there is no information on the Instant display. And because there is no tag I cannot search by strong number. These is no lemma, no information at all like if that word did not exist. I found many words like that. Further test reveals that winnowing is tagged in the NASB95. Same happens with the phrase "Good news to the people" in verse 18 in the ESVS is not tagged at all but in the NASB which was translated as the gospel it is tagged. But it gets worst. When I try to look up the word winnowing in the dictionary by right clicking and going to Lookup>Dictionary Accordance tells me that "There are no words to use in the selected text". But there is as if I do the same thing using the NASB95S it opens up… because it is tagged in the NASB95. It seems like I cannot choose the ESVS as my study Bible as there are many words that are not tagged. If Accordance is about choosing my own path for study then why is the ESVS not tagged as well as the NASB95? Also, as I did a "search all" for the word winnowing using just dictionary, when it opens up to the result page non has active links to the reference Bible verses. It forces you to have to open up the actual tool in order to see the active links to the reference. Not very efficient. What if I just want to quickly hover over the Bible reference and see what is about in the Instant Display? What if I just want to open directly to that Bible reference without having to open the tool? I would like to hear if there is any reason behind this or if it is a bug or a mistake, but I am finding too many words in the ESVS that are not tagged although is a tagged book but that they are tagged in the NSAB95. My biggest concern is that I know cannot trust the tagging on Accordance.
  7. I'm doing a search for [KEY G5921] in NIV11-GK and it returns 153 hits. In the Mounce Greek Dictionary for this key it says 155x. Can someone explain why there's a difference and is there a simple way of determining where the difference lies?
