  1. Many accordance users who are doing graduate work need to learn theological german; many who did their grad work a long time ago and have forgotten their german need some help. I know that tagged german texts would be a lot of coding but surely there is a published with an epub lexicon or a public domain German/English dictionary out there? I would happily pay to be able to search a german lexicon in accordance rather than using google translate and comparing that to a few other websites or manually looking up a word in a physical dictionary. French and Spanish might be good as well.
  2. Are there any plans to offer the Dictionary of Deities and Demons of the Bible as an Accordance module? As a graduate student studying the Ancient Near East, this would be immensely helpful. I am planning to buy a print copy, but if it were available in Accordance I would definitely buy that instead. Thanks! David (דויד)

    Brill Greek Dictionary

I'd love to see the Brill's new Greek Dictionary available on Accordance! http://www.brill.com/products/book/brill-dictionary-ancient-greek
  4. Hi everyone, Just checking how often does the New Interpreter's Dictionary of the Bible go on sale? If yes, usually how much discount? What about the New Interpreter's Bible Commentary (12 Volumes)
  5. Are there any plans to possibly get Dictionary of Latin and Greek Theological Terms on Accordance? http://bakerpublishinggroup.com/books/dictionary-of-latin-and-greek-theological-terms-2nd-edition/144703
  6. Hello This would be a great resource for Accordance users: T&T Clark Encyclopedia of Second Temple Judaism Volumes I and II https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/tt-clark-encyclopedia-of-second-temple-judaism-volumes-i-and-ii-9780567661449/
  7. I use the Hebrew Lexicons constantly, but once in a while I need to look up a word in English in terms of how it is translated into Hebrew. I know that there are several excellent tools in Accordance, but I am looking for what might be the best dictionary in this category, where I might start with a word in English and search for the possible translations into Hebrew. I have some hard copy books that do this but what is the best electronic resource(s) in this category. Thanks!
  8. This looks like an excellent new resource, and, as with all reference books, I would prefer to buy it in Accordance! https://christianityandsciencebook.com/
  9. Hi, Just wanted to ask if anyone could suggest me good dictionary or some other resource about the ancient culture. Today I wanted to find something about the fishermen, couldn't find anything in my dictionaries. I did't want to find who of the disciples were former fishermen. What I was looking for — were fishermen educated or not (probable the latter), were they rich or poor, their status in the society, etc. Something about ancient culture / society setting. Standard dictionaries don't answer these kinds of questions.

    Amplify on iPad.

Is there a way to change which dictionary instant details amplifies to for a greek/hebrew word? Or just a way to choose what resource to amplify to instead of some preset one?
  11. The Kohlenberger/Mounce Hebrew dictionary sometimes pulls up the wrong definitions. Here are some examples: Genesis 1:11 - עַל - Accordance defines this as "upon, over above." KM defines this as "Most High." Genesis 1:22 - וַיְבָרֶךְ - Accordance defines this as "to bless." KM defines this as "to kneel down" or "to make kneel." Genesis 1:22 - וּרְבוּ - Accordance: "to be many, great." KM: "Greater Sidon" Genesis 1:26 and 1:28 - בִדְגַת - Accordance "fish" (noun). KM: "to increase, multiply." This also happens here: Genesis 2:3 - וַיְקַדֵּשׁ Genesis 2:5 - שִׂיחַ Genesis 2:7 - בְּאַפָּיו and חַיָּה Genesis 2:9 and 2:17 - טוֹב Genesis 2:18 - עֵזֶר - KM mentions "help," but seems to mention it as a cross reference. The main definition seems to be "Ezer." Genesis 23:12 - וַיִּשְׁתַּ֙חוּ֙ I'm using Accordance version 2.4.3 for iOS.
  12. Could you please add support for the OS X built-in system-wide dictionary? For example, in Safari or Pages I can select any word, press Control+Command+d and dictionary window will pop up with the explanation of the selected word. I wish I had the same functionality in Accordance.
  13. I'd love to see Accordance produce Hendrickson's volumes on the Dictionary of Daily Life, edited by Yamauchi and Wilson. It's a unique set, and it would fit with Accordance's offerings related to this series.

    Eerdmans Dictionary Update

I just checked for updates and I see Eerdmans Dictionary shows up with the current version showing as 2.0 and the available version as 3.2 That sounds like a significant update to go from 2.0 to 3.2 Anyone know what this update includes?
  15. I search by scripture on IVP, and I get 15 occurences. To browse I click through the bottom arrows. But, I never know which one of the 15 I am at. So first idea: why dont you put a number, saying which of the 15 occurences I am at, at the moment? Second idea: what if I also have a list button, so that I can see for each of the 15 occurences, which topic they point? So if I click, I can just jump to the (ie) "sons of God" instead of browsing through all of them
  16. From all you experienced Bible software experts, which dictionary series in your opinion is the best investment, Anchor or IVP?
  17. From time to time I come across some word in the commentaries which I don't know. (My mother tongue isn't English). It would be nice if the iOS version would offer Define feature in the pop up menu when I select a single word.

    Dictionary Pent/Charismatic Movements

I'd like to request the following resource: Burgess, Stanley M. The International Dictionary of Pentecostal/ Charismatic Movements. Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 2002 Thanks, John
  19. If I search in a particular dictionary such as Eerdmann's for a word such as "Ark", I can only look for entries. In this example it finds 2 hits. I have a Dictionary group "My Dictionaries" in which I've put all of the Dictionary modules I own (7 of them). When I do a search all of that group for "Ark" it gives me the Entries, Titles, Content, etc. Is there any way to limit the results to only show Entries? I'm trying to make more use of Dictionaries in my personal study and it would be helpful to have this capability.
  20. Hi! I would love to get Jack Hayford's Bible Handbook available for Accordance. I just discovered that Logos has it: http://www.logos.com...-bible-handbook (I think they have the old version, I believe there's an update after 1995.) It contains lots of stuff I still turn for in the hardprint edition: The first-of-its-kind Bible handbook offers charismatic and Pentecostal Christians a major reference tool that provides easy access to a wealth of biblical and practical information. Contains an interactive Survey (with Kingdom Life Insights) for each book of the Bible, the unique Spirit-Filled Life Encyclopedic Dictionary with over 1,300 entries, and Kingdom Keys for applying the principles of the Spirit-filled life. (...) ... but the hardcover paper-book is BIG and heavy ... Accordance is not. Even if I have loads of other resources, charismatic and not so charismatic available, I find this book to be of great value when preparing teaching. Especially when commentaries go too deep, and various study bibles seems to overlook certain "birds eye view" aspects ... Hopefully others here are interested, too?
