  1. I've seen various posts that mention similar issues, but most were for the Mac version. I'm running Accordance 13.1.2 on Windows 10 x64 (Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363) on a Dell Latitude E6540. If I select, let's say, Mark 1:9 (ESV) and do "Ctrl + Alt + C" to copy as a citation, then paste it... Here is what I get: “And it me to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.” (Mark 1:9) If I just do a "regular" (Ctrl + C) copy, then I get this: And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. Notice that came is truncated to me when copied as a citation. In addition, if copying a larger passage as a citation, the spaces between verses are removed, like so: “And it me to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness. And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.” (Mark 1:9–13) Notice in the passage above that between every verse the period is squished right up against the beginning of the next verse without a space. This is quite problematic, because I have to proofread every citation! I'm hoping there's a simple fix for this. I've attached a screenshot showing my preferences panel for "Copy as Citation" as well my text selection that results in the pasted passage above. Thanks!

    Targum citation

My ignorance is going to show through here because I'm learning. So I am hoping someone with some education in this regard might be willing to educate me a little bit on citing Targums from Accordance. The modules available include, for instance, Targums Onkelos, Jonathan, and the Writings in a single module (TARG-T). How can I know which of the three to cite for someone who will go to the actual original language Targum? Unless I'm misunderstanding something, I currently must cite all three (Tg. Onq., Neb., Ket.) because there is nothing in the module to indicate which one to reference specifically. Blessings, Jeff

    Citation copy problems

““For if you rgive others for their transgressions” —Matthew 6:14 NAS95 This is what happens when I use the citation copy and paste. Sometimes it leaves letters out. It does not matter what application I am pasting to. The above citation had the same result in MS Word for Mac and then here again on my forum post. I have tried different citation settings in the preferences, but can't find anything that changes the outcome. Does citation not work for partial verses? Although I think it leaves out letters when I copy complete verses as well. I was hoping today's update would resolve this, but it does not. ===== Let me add this again for the record. For a multi hundred dollar piece of software that is used for precision text work, I would expect copy and paste to work, and I would expect better text export options. I am a recent BW user trying to adjust to Accordance. I really like so much of this software so far and some of my frustration centers on my being behind the learning curve.
  4. I used to be able to copy as citation or copy as bibliography when copying from a commentary. I've not changed any of my settings. I have citation enabled in preferences. I am using the latest accordance (12.3.4). But when I copy as citation, I only get the text copied with no citation. When I copy as bibliography, I get nothing. Any ideas? I'm not attempting to copy Bible text, but from commentaries. I've tried several, and none contain the bibliography or citation information when I paste.
  5. Ever since I got Accordance two years ago, and with every subsequent update, I have had issues with the "Copy>Copy as Citation" function. Anytime I paste it, it randomly removes spaces. See below the text of Eph. 1:3-10. The space is removed between "places," and "even"; "love" and "he"; "Beloved." and "In" and so on. What's very frustrating is that for some reason only a handful will be caught by the spell check so I will often print and distribute documents with these annoying typos. Any help? (I use a Mac) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In lovehe predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insightmaking known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christas a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.” (Ephesians 1:3–10 ESV)
  6. Greetings. I'm brand new to Accordance (and Logos too) and loving it so far! But one of the reasons I was excited about Accordance was the "copy as citation" feature that allows copying a citation into a document, simultaneously making a footnote. Of note, I'm using MacOS 10.13.6 and Word for Mac 16.23. Here's what I've done: Enabled my citation options in "preferences" Checked "insert citation as footnote" under the bibliography tab in preferences Copied the text I want to insert using "copy as citation" (CTRL-Command-C on Mac) Pasted the text into word (tried pasting regularly and formatted). I get the citation copied into the main body as it should, but no footnote. I've tried everything I could think of, but it's not working. I am not getting a footnote in Word (or in Scrivener). This does work in Logos but it's pretty clunky there and takes a bunch of extra steps. Copy as bibliography also isn't creating the footnote. Looking at that seems like an older reference here, this seems like it should be doable (copied a screenshot below of the old Accordance page): Is this a bug? Anything I'm missing? Thanks and God Bless!

    12.3.0 citation bug

I just installed 12.3.0. Now when I copy a selection from a commentary (for example) using control command C, and then past into my notes, I get two copies of the selection from the commentary and no citation. I'm using Sierra 10.12.6. Thanks Kevin

    MLA Citation

Good morning, I am preparing to start working on my next degree and in my reading, I found that MLA is the style guide used (unfortunately). Would it be possible to add MLA to the citation options?

    Quoting Psalms without the "s"

Feature suggestion: When i copy or import text into my Microsoft Word Docs, it normally isn’t a problem. The one issue I have is when I insert from the Psalms. It looks like this: Psalms 90:1 (NKJV) Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. This is a problem for me, because when I quote the Psalms I am quoting Psalm (no s) 90:1-2, not Psalms 90:1-2. I don’t know if this would be an easy fix or not, but I really think it would be a nice touch to fix this so I don’t have to go back and erase every “s” at the end of my Psalm quotes. My Suggestion would be the drop the "s" when a single Psalm is being quoted but include it when the larger "Book of Psalms" is being referenced (in the Index of a Bible, etc.). (In the meantime, I might abbreviate my book names) Thoughts?

    Studying on iOS

I am trying to work out how to do my studying process on iOS. It occurs to me that if I can't copy with citation, perhaps I can add notes along in the journal article and extract things out on a desktop later. But it appears you can't add notes to journal articles? That can't be right can it?
  12. Good day friends, I've been struggling to copy my texts as citation and/bibliography. I've browsed through the forums to try to identify the issue, and it appears that my issue is the inability to activate this function through my preferences. However, I can't find the option of either 'citation' or 'bibliography' in the preference tab to activate this function. Can someone help me? I've attached a screenshot of what I see when I open my preference tab. Any help would be fantastic, thanks!

    Copy as Citation

Copy as Citation is great. And the customization on this is wonderful. But there's one more that would be a big winner. Right now Copy as Citation wipes clean any formatting. But does it have to? It would be great to preserve the formatting (e.g. HITS color, poetic layout, etc.) Thanks!
  14. This is true for Accordance 12 on Windows 10 and Mac. After install of version 12, copy as citation includes the accord:// URL even though that option is not selected in preferences / citation reference. Checking that option, clicking OK, then re-opening preferences and unchecking the option succeed in getting the citation to paste as expected.

    Citation font styles

Hi, I don't know is it a bug or is it a normal expected behavior and in that case this should it be a feature request… When I copy any Bible text as a citation and paste it in the word processor (Apple Pages), each citation contains three different fonts: Bible text is copied as Cambria (as it is in Accordance), Bible reference (in the brackets) is copied as Times, Accordance link is copied as Helvetica Neue. When I copy any commentary as a citation, and paste it in the word processor, I get this: Commentary text is show in Cambria (as it is displayed in Accordance), Commentary reference is shown in Geneva, which doesn't have Italics, thus the Book title cannot be italicized — this is not good at all!, Accordance link is shown in Helvetica Neue. Could you please use the same font for the whole citation, preferably the same font which is used for the Bible text / commentary? Thank you in advance!
  16. Hi! I copied some text from the Barnes' Notes as a citation. Pasted into my user notes. Citation section was pasted like this: Albert Barnes, Barnes ’ Notes on the New Testament, Accordance electronic ed. (Altamonte Springs: OakTree Software, 2006), paragraph 16935. accord://read/Barnes’_Notes_(NT)#16935 I think there shouldn't be a line break before the apostrophe? The last line was pasted as link. However, when I tried to click on this link later on, nothing happened. I guess it should open Barnes' Notes to that section, right? (Accordance 12.0.2, macOS Sierra)
  17. Hello I'm were happy if I can choose to Citation in the reverse order from what Accordance has now, plus the publication year. Now (1 Mose 1,1 Die Bibel. Elberfelder Übersetzung) My wish: (Die Bibel. Elberfelder Übersetzung 1994: 1Mo 1,1) So it is like the normal citations where the Book come first then the year and after the colon the site (or paragraph or Bible verse). Greetings Fabian
  18. The request is to have the “copy as” feature work on Bible as it does on other resources… When using the “copy as” feature with any Bible text …if I choose copy as a citation, I get this (1 Kings 11:4) “In Solomon’s old age, they turned his heart to worship other gods instead of being completely faithful to the LORD his God, as his father, David, had been.” …if I choose copy as bibliography, I get this (1 Kings 11:4) I am not getting this information NLT (2nd ed.) New Living Translation, Second Edition (NLT-SE) Holy Bible, New Living Translation copyright © 1996, 2004 by Tyndale Charitable Trust. Used by permission of Tyndale House Publishers, Inc., Wheaton Illinois 60189. All rights reserved. Version 2.3 Note that for other resources, I get all the information When using the “copy as” feature with any other text (i.e. commentary) …if I choose copy as a citation, I get this The Lord told Solomon, it is likely by a prophet, what he must expect for his apostacy. Henry, Matthew, Matthew Henry’s Commentary (Condensed). Accordance electronic ed. Altamonte Springs: OakTree Software, 1996. …if I choose copy as bibliography, I get this Henry, Matthew, Matthew Henry’s Commentary (Condensed). Accordance electronic ed. Altamonte Springs: OakTree Software, 1996.
  19. When I "copy as citation" a section of a commentary into a word processor (Word, Google Docs), it does not include the section of the reference work For example Barnes' Commentary for Matthew 1:19 ("and her husband Joseph a just man") has the following Barnes's commentary A just man. Justice consists in rendering to every man his own. Yet this is evidently not the character intended to be given here of Joseph. It means that he was kind, tender, merciful; so attached to Mary, that he was not willing that she should be exposed to public shame. He sought, therefore, secretly to dissolve the connexion, and to restore her to her friends without the punishment commonly inflicted on adultery. The word just has not unfrequently this meaning of mildness, or mercy. Albert Barnes, Barnes’ Notes on the New Testament, Accordance electronic ed. (Altamonte Springs: OakTree Software, 2006), n.p. The citation does not state that this section is from Matthew 1:19 in Barnes Notes. a person reading only the citation would have to search all of Barnes Notes to find the specific passage that was copied. Note: I use Mac OSX Yosemite, Accordance 11
  20. Good morning, I noticed this morning that when I Copy as Citation from Phillips Commentary it copies it as a regular copy. It is working form other modules, just not Phillips. I attempted to Copy as Citation in a different location within the module (Psalms & Philippians) with the same result and into different programs (Scrivener & Word) with the same result. I have also used the keyboard shortcut and contextual menu with the same result. I am using Accordance 11.0.4, Phillips version 1.1, Mac OS X 10.10.2, on my 11-inch, Mid 2011 MacBook Air
  21. I cannot commentary's text as citation (EBC, WBC, For Everyone Commentary (NT), etc.). Text is copied, but no bibliographical information added in the end. When I try to copy only as Bibliography, nothing is copied at all. MacBook Pro 15.4" retina (mid 2014) — Core i7, 16 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD. OS X Yosemite (10.10.2 beta), Accordance 11.0.4

    Citation from new TJL modules

G'Day, I just spotted a "feature" in the TJL-Jets 2012. Highlight some text, Cmd-Ctrl-C and paste into Mellel (or word etc) and you get the text with no citation. Now do the same thing with TJL-Jets (the old one). You get the text plus the citation. I've tried this with Conspectus (new & old) and got the same result. These are the only two I have tested with. Perhaps the new TJLs are not formatted correctly? Thanks, Wayne

    Punctuate abbreviated Bible reference

The iOS app thankfully punctuates the abbreviated Bible reference when copying a verse (example: "Rev. 20:1"), but the full app doesn't do so when copying citations (example: "Rev 20:1"), so I have to continually add punctuation. An option to add punctuation to abbreviations would be helpful.
  24. Hi, I just discovered an odd behavior in Accordance, and I'm not certain if it's an intentional thing or a bug. Here's what's going on. Each week I copy the Scripture passage into a Keynote for Sunday, I search for the text in Accordance and then "copy as citation." I recently got a new computer, and have reinstalled Accordance so some settings I'd changed previously were reset to normal, one of these was "hide superscripts" in the Citations settings - it was checked. When I discovered my error I unchecked the setting, restarted the application, and re-opened the text. Copying as citation still wouldn't give me my desired superscripts. Upon further exploration I realized I had changed my default text layout to "Paragraphs with space." I changed it to "Separate with Space" and restarted the program - my superscripts showed up when I copied the passage as a citation! So my question is, "Is this behavior a bug, or is it intentional that text displayed in paragraph form would not copy superscripts?" Thanks a bunch!
  25. I've been encountering a problem when I select a portion of a verse that excludes the beginning or end of the verse and, from the contextual menu, select Copy As: Citation. When pasted into a document, often a portion (generally the last few letters or word) of the selected text is not copied over. Sometimes, a word or so from the beginning of the verse (a word not selected) will be included in the pasted text. For example, I selected "the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the" from John 1:1. When pasted, I got "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, a". When I copy as citation utilizing the key command (ctrl+command+c) I don't encounter this problem. While I've installed the latest beta (9.5.5), I've been countering this problem for the past several versions; it's not new.
